This 8-inch fence gate wheel exceeded all my expectations for sure. Our gate wheel broke off while pulling it shut one day, and had dry rotted off, so this looked ideal as replacement. It was almost too heavy duty for the backlot fence I ordered it for, (see photo from while we were sizing it up) but we were able to make it work fine. Industrial grade heavy duty, our fence can barely compress the spring shock absorber. The tire is a tubeless solid rubber 8-inch wheel and connected with a smooth rotating ball bearing plate with grease nozzle. They included U-bolts and nuts for attaching to a chain link fences, but our property gate has a 20ft wood fence gate and we were able to just screw it into the wood using the eyelets with 6 large screws. This wheel is big -- double check it's what you need. It's a little overkill for my wooden fence, but I feel good about the strength and size of the wheel. It simply bolts on so it should be easy to install on a wooden fence.
