    • High Quality Twist Throttle Kit at a very Low Price !!!
I purchased this twist throttle kit to replace my old twist throttle unit on my 2003 Honda XR-50R pitbike. I really didn't know what to expect for the $9.99 I payed for this kit but once I received it, I was more than happy. The twist throttle & throttle cable was made from high quality parts & I am very satisfied with them without any doubts. The included black color handlebar grips are on the hard side when it comes to softness but I had no problem with that, being I was going to use Scotts - Hurricane MX Blue color grips anyways. I will use them on an other dirtbike at a later time & keep them for a spare set. You can't see in the pictures listed for this product that the twist throttle plastic tube has raised ridges all the way down it because the twist throttles grip is already mounted to the twist throttle plastic tube & is covered up in the picture. I think this is an excellent feature & it helps keep the grip from spinning on the the plastic tube once you mount new grips on the twist throttle plastic tube. The throttle cable was the perfect size length for my XR-50R pitbike that has a tall BMX style handlebar kit on it & worked out great without having any excess slack to have to worry about once the twist throttle kit was mounted to my handlebars.Even better, the OEM XR/CRF-50 90 degree angle style throttle cables will also fit the mounting hole in this twist throttle kit which is a huge bonus for when needing to find a new throttle cable to fit correctly in the future if one is needed. The twist throttle metal housing is black glossy planted & the finish is very well painted & it has chrome allen head bolts to hold it together that look good against the black finish. I had no damage to the twist throttle kit at all from shipping. My order also came to me very fast & only took two days for me to receive it with free shipping, which was excellent. I have nothing but great things to say about this twist throttle kit & I am very happy with my purchase. I have bought some real junk in my life but this definitely has to take place in the top 10 list. I don't know if these other reviews are fake or what but in my opinion there's no way this thing could possibly function correctly. I recommend steering clear of this product because it locks up, it doesn't return, the plastic shredded within minutes. Below are my in-depth reasons for this, continue on for the gory details if you wish. PROS: Price. Everything is simple to install if you know how (search YouTube for lots of videos of similar throttles). The rubber grips are decent quality, the aluminum housing is well constructed. The nylon-like insert for the throttle grip is sturdy but not shred resistant in the slightest (see photos). The throttle cable was easy to install into the throttle body but would be easier with 4 hands (not the fault of this setup, just the way my throttle is designed). It's just OK quality but it's usable. There wasn't enough slack on the end (could just be I got a defective piece), so my float bowl was flooding without even touching the throttle... but it does function, I guess? However, if you do get the tension correct then you can't twist the grip. Which leads us to... CONS: The twist throttle is wobbly on 7/8" bars. The next issue is the black plastic guide piece (shown in my photos) slides over the cable which then moves the cable at an angle to where it clips into the grip. The white plastic piece locks and stops somewhere between the cable and the black plastic piece. The grip doesn't return or it gets locked wide open. On top of this, the cable shredded the plastic. I tried a handful of different ways of installing it all with the same outcomes. Throttle gets locked open wide, won't open. won't close or just grinds and shreds. I am far from inept at working with mechanical things and I just don't see how this could work. I'm sure it does for some to a degree, else they wouldn't still make it and people wouldn't still be buying it. I am describing my experience with this item, and I may have had a faulty unit. Even if it was faulty it's still a really low-end solution that probably just scrapes by. "You get what you pay for" doesn't really apply here because it just falls below that spectrum even. I was going to return the item but really needed the cable in a pinch so cancelled the return. What I ended up doing was threading a bicycle lever and using that as a throttle with the cable from this kit, then removed the grip from the twist throttle and fitted it to my bars using rubber shims. This is a temporary solution so I will be looking for a higher quality throttle now. The photos attached are what the plastic looked like after twisting the throttle only about 25~ times. I wasn't expecting miracles for $10 but overall I'm disappointed that it didn't work whatsoever, and I recommend finding a different solution. ... show more

I've had this throttle set up for over a year now, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Everything fit relatively well, with very few adjustments needing to be made. My handle bars kind of narrow a bit on certain parts, so I had to use a bit of electrical tape as a buffer to get a nice snug fit, but that's no fault of the item itself. I off-road a lot on my shock-less minibike, so it's definitely being ridden pretty rough on a regular basis. That being said, I've experienced no issues whatsoever with this item. Cable is holding strong. The plastic piece in the handle bar you thread the cable to is undamaged, etc. All in all, a solid, reliable product. Bottom line: I'd recommend getting it if you're in need. Bought it for my son's pocket bike. The original cable snapped inside the throttle , and upon disassembly, I realized the plastic housing was split where the cable adjuster threads into it. I decided on this because it has a metal housing. It's probably cheap Chinese metal, but cheap Chinese metal is better than cheap Chinese plastic. The cable is a few inches longer than the original, but not by very much. The bike's fairing hides the excess just fine. It didn't need replaced, but we swapped out the original left grip for the one included in this set just because it was included. ... show more

    • PERFECT FIT FOR THE 33cc Mototec pocket bike!!
Was a very clean and easy install and was well worth the price considering the only down fall to it is it doesn’t have a place to hook the “kill switch” to as it does when it’s factory but other then that the quality of it was better then expected!
