  • Great quality!
Great quality product! Fits a 2018 honda grom like a glove. Only tools you will need are a 10mm wrench or ratchet and some snap ring pliers to remove the old sloppy linkage! The only downside would be it is a little more difficult to find neutral but ill take that! Also i would recommend picking up a shift shaft brace for some extra protection of important engine components! ... show more

  • Must have for Grom
It’s a must have for every Grom owner. Eliminated that problematic linkage and now I find neutral easier. Plus won’t bend if you dump it. Obviously looks significantly better. Install was cake once I was able to remove the original, which was also easy with the exception of removing the flat ring locking clip (what is the proper name of that thing?), easier with the right tools I’m sure. ... show more

  • 4 stars for now.
The shifter is pretty quality; steel construction but a kind of slick plastic part for the shifting handle. This shifter (KX60) does work on a grom. The stock shifter is easy enough to remove, and this one is even easier to put on and remove. Just be careful not to go crazy tightening that bolt, it will snap if you try to torque it. So when you get the shifter on, and even when you tighten the bolt correctly, it still wiggles just a little bit if you move it left and right on the shift shaft. It's miniscule, and not noticeable when riding. So how does it feel? Pretty good; I ordered the HardRacing shift shaft brace (highly recommended by everyone who gets a direct shifter like this apparently) but I don't have it yet. The shift feel is noticeably improved, I can feel a positive click into all the gears, even with my riding boots. Now, for some reason it takes a little more kick to downshift I feel like. The shifter does also have a really nice feature that I liked when I rode bigger bikes; when you kick down into 1st gear on the stock shifter for a grom, it still squishes and flops around, even if you're in gear. This shifter gives you positive resistance if you try to kick it down again. Overall for the price it's a good quality of life mod, it reduces false neutrals, and gets some street cred. Definitely pick up the brace though if you buy this. ... show more

  • Installed on KLX230
I bought this to switch out the stock shifter on my KLX230. The stock shifter does not have a hinged post (peddle) as this one does. I have already bent the stock shifter in a fall and bent it back into position. If you look at the photos you can see this lever and the stock one. The length from the shaft attachment to the post is the same the difference is the bend on the lever arm. So for some you may have issue with your foot contacting the arm of the lever instead of the post on the end. I have had no problem with this so far. It clears the side cover of the engine just fine. Also no problems with the splines on the shifter shaft and the groves on the lever. This is half the price of getting the KLX230R lever that does have a hinged post (peddle) on the end. ... show more

  • Solid build; use a different bolt
I like IMS. Have used their shifters and pegs on a past bike. Decided to put one on my 2017 Honda Grom to improve shifting. Shifter itself is solid, heavy duty, folds well, ect. I like that it only has a logo sticker and it's removable for a clean plain look unlike some who stamp or use excessive adhesives so you have to advertise the product. However, and put the blame on me for this, instead of hand tightening the bolt I used a drill. I assumed it would cinch down and as soon as it tensioned up I'd stop. One trigger pull cinched the bolt and snapped off the head which then loosened the the shifter on the shaft. Now it's on the shaft tight enough to shift and not fall off but is wobbly and moves around as it isn't cinched all the way. I can't dremel it without ruining threading; not cut it off for concern of damaging the shaft so I just had to fill the void between shifter and shaft with a ton of glue. Not sure how it'll hold up and it's really sketchy looking/feeling. Do yourself a favor, spend 25 cents, and get a much heavier duty bolt that can take enough torque to properly tighten the shifter down. Second complaint is that it came packaged well and apparently new but said it was used and a repurposed item. I don't mind, it helps reduce waste and such but there are used options cheaper than new and you're paying for new. Not a huge price difference and looked new but if it was a more expensive component that was sent used when paid for new I'd be frustrated. Other than that, solid product. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
After curling my stock lever up on my TW I went looking for a folding lever. Although it doesn't list the Yamaha TW200 on the page or the package it comes in, it does fit.

  • Just as good as oem for less.
This is the ONLY shifter to get other than an oem. My stock shifter was worn from lots of use (YZ125 2-stroke) so I bought an aluminum replacement. It stripped out almost immediately even though I tightened it regularly. I was told oem is the only way to go but they are very expensive. I spoke with someone who highly recommended this IMS shifter so I bought it for roughly half the oem price. So far it has worked perfectly, the bolt stays tight and the shifter is tight on the shaft even though mine is somewhat worn. I am very happy with this purchase and it is a high quality product for a good price. ... show more

  • ITS GOING TO WORK JUST FINE
Brand new out of the packaging with surface rust. Other than that it's going to do the job will have it coated later on. Just something to keep in mind
