This is a great choice for people looking for a sturdy and versatile vlog stick/tripod, and are willing to live with a longer size when collapsed. I surveyed many options and picked this one for its versatile and sturdy phone holder. It's got a locking mechanism on the ball mount, the phone clamp, and the phone orientation. I felt very secure with my phone on the stick. The entire phone holder can be removed and screwed onto other tripods. One of the common complaints about other vlog sticks is the remote control: it's either easy to lose or has no replaceable battery. Not a problem for this unit. The remote control sits securely in its holder, and it uses the standard CR 2032 battery that can be replaced easily. The phone holder does not retract into the tripod, so it is longer than other units when collapsed. I found that to be a worthwhile trade-off for its benefits. The only real complaint I have is that the phone mount can wobble a bit, even if you lock up everything, due to the slight shift allowed among the extension rod sections. Not a big problem, but it would be nice not to have that wobble.

This is the VERY BEST selfie stick I've ever used - HANDS DOWN!! It is very well built - there is no wobble when extended. The design offers several ways to position your phone for video and picture taking. Super easy connection to phone with a push of a button. The remote detaches and works flawlessly. I've use the selfie stick on vacations and events - it has never failed me for nearly 2 years. I've used expensive selfie sticks sold by Apple store, other sticks sold by Amazon -- all junk. If you want a robust selfie stick that is easy to use -- this is the one!

I like how easy it is to use as a selfie stick or a free standing tripod. The remote works well for taking photos and starting and stopping video's. It is sturdy and can handle a phone in a case with ease. Easy to pair with the remote on Bluetooth. CON: The base has a thin (from them leg to the base) that can break if you put pressure on it as this is how the leg hold it upright and with out them, it can tip over. So be careful with that when extending or placing down on the ground. Summery: Great tripod for what ever you use it for with care. Good for all events where you can control your device with the remote. 20 dollar tripod is worth the money all day long. Would buy again and again.

For a cell phone tripod it will work in most applications. I would be very hesitant to use it with my DSLR because of the weight of the camera. I would also hesitate to use it if it was really windy outside. I have only used it indoors in my classroom so far. I had to use a rubber hammer to pry the phone holder apart the first time. The spring loaded holder seemed stuck and needed some convincing! The height seems reasonable for classroom use. The design is not super durable or sturdy, but this was designed to be lightweight and carry it in a backpack. It was reasonably priced under $20, so for the price, it is fine. When I first used the top round plate, I thought I was going to break it until I realized there are detente (or stopping at certain spots 90 degrees, 45 degrees, 180 degrees, etc). It is very easy to use. I did not try the remote control yet as that was not a major reasoning for my purchase. This would be too big to fit in a purse, but would easily fit in a backpack and light enough to carry all day.
