    • This guitar is a great value.
This is my second acoustic replacing a S35 Takamine starter. I chose the Seagull because of the good reviews by others and price point. I chose the slim model because I have smaller hands; this Seagull has approximately the same size neck as the S35 Takamine. Pros: Wonderful bright sound, not muddy like my entry level acoustic. Each string is distinct and a "hammer-on" can be clearly heard over concurrent notes. Solid wood construction. Excellent tuners and high quality strings. Smaller head stock seemed strange at first but makes the guitar have a better balance for me. I bought this through Amazon from GearTree and the purchase price at 4 Benjamins included and Seagull soft case and shipping (nice bonus). Cons: The neck has two areas on the back side (full hand width near body and smaller width near headstock) where the finish is rough. I am not sure if this is due to insufficient wood prep (sanding) or if it's the finishing material itself. I have not attempted to rectify. I think QC should have caught this flaw. I had to adjust the action. After letting the woods adapt to my home, the truss rod needed a minor tweak (expected). The nut slots required filing as the first fret gap on the first and second strings was double my desired gap. I also filed the others to be to my liking. I shouldn't call this a "con" because I understand most new guitars need this and it was a minor deal since I had the necessary tools. No adjustment of the bridge needed. I recommend this guitar (brand) to player at any level. ... show more

Beautifuly made!! Best guitar for the money! The extras in this was a major plus too! Extra strings, carry bag, picks... bought this for our grandson. He loves it! Feels like one of the big guys and in style!

The bag feels very durable and with good quality and the guitar stand is very useful, my guitar stay on the stand all day. Amazingly, it takes only one and a half day to deliver to central illinois! I am a beginner without so precise judgement for the sound of the guitar, but the guitar feels delicate and with good quality, and it is beautiful! ... show more

I compared this guitar with original s6 with 1.8" nut width but chose this slim version with 1.72". And I love this guitar. The guitar arrived on time with free gigbag and stand. The cedar top sounds just great. The action is a little bit high for me but its better than too low.

Put those fingers on the strings then whack the strings. Even smaller hands OK! I have big man hands, but I can imagine small hands and they also make good sound.
