    • Aluminum Wire and Not Tinned Copper wire
It is advertised to have tinned copper wire. The 2 I received had Aluminum wire which in no way should be used in a Marine application. I would have never bought this item if I knew it was aluminum wire. This wire will corrode and cause a fire. It's a shame as the plug and receptacle were of good quality.     • Could be great, ended up subpar due to cable/false advertising. Less than 8 AWG and Aluminum wire
Would have been 5 Stars except for2 major flaws. 1 It's not 8 gauge AWG more like 10 gauge. 2 It's Aluminum wire NOT copper, it's referred to as CCA copper clad aluminum. Therefore it can't handle 40 Amps, possibly 25 or 30 Amps. The physical construction and functionality are good quality. It just can't handle the current it's advertised to carry. Sadly this is true of many components on Amazon. I used it as I had to finish my project and it was the best fit of the three that I selected and was better than nothing at all. I'll replace it when I find a proper replacement. I should be refunded part of the price for false advertising. Let's see where that goes. ... show more
