All my life I have struggled to accommodate an unending accumulation of books. A pleasurable annoyance to be sure but one always in search of a solution. Running out of space in my basement study/work area, I recalled a youthful visit to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. This little book worm never forgot his ingenious rotating book stand on which five volumes at once could be placed for simultaneous perusal. Voila! Put rotating bookshelf in search and wound up here. This product seemed to TOWER over competitors in size, design and construction. Solid hard wood, as others have noted the included ratchet (what a wonderful invention) eases the assembly beautifully. You strong folks, no need to over torque- just snug it up. It is SOLID. As you can see I got it loaded down already- many hefty art books, some oversize slid sideways, it can be rolled if needed, and it feels solidly planted on the floor. No tipsy, off kilter wobble- I am delighted. Such a space saver and wonderful to have so many books ready to hand from the comfort of my arm chair. And it's taller than me! (6'3"). Overall, I really like this bookcase. It's a very small footprint so it fits neatly into a corner and looks great. I ordered the tallest one, 6 tiers, and I need to disagree with a few reviewers here who commented on how stable the unit is. Mine is sitting on carpet, on locked wheels, so maybe that impacts the dubious stability, but it feels like it could easily tip over. Also, the assembly was pretty straightforward (love that ratchet wrench screwdriver), but it took a long time and was a bit tedious. As one or two reviewers mentioned, there were a couple of pre-drilled holes that were the wrong size and I used the recommended "toothpick trick" (which worked well, thank you). On the plus side, I love that it's solid wood, the walnut finish looks expensive, and it definitely holds a lot of books.

This is a really nice unit. I got the tall one, dark finish. Just got done assembling and stocking books on it and just ordered another. The wood is very precisely cut and finished. The hardware is very high quality. The hardest part of assembly is attaching the slats to the base, but even that's not challenging. After that, assembly is very easy, though a little time-consuming -- you just add shelves vertically, one after the other. Some watch-outs. One pilot hole in one of the slats was defective -- the screw did not grab and could not be cinched down. Fortunately the toothpick trick worked perfectly. Generally, don't over-torque. Just hand strength using the nice little ratchet they give you. When I originally ordered, I was given extended warrantee options. 50 something bucks for 3 years. Frankly, the idea that a bookshelf might not last 3 years is really awkward -- I've seen bookshelves made in the 1800s that seem to work just fine. Although, in fairness these have moving parts. Still, 3 years? Lastly, it wasn't until I ordered a second unit that I saw the max weight capacity is 65 lbs. It makes me question whether the designers of this unit have ever actually held a book. Also, what is the weak link here? The casters? The turnable bearing? Anyway, very happy after one day. Looks great, works great.

This bookshelf is amazing! Assembly was quite easy even by myself, and the ratcheting screwdriver that comes with it made all the difference! I thought I had ordered one size smaller which would have fit under the clock (that my dad made) but I am not disappointed in this one, I will make it work, besides, that swan needed a new spot to keep a certain cat from eating on the plant. And yes, my German Shepherd rearranged the blinds to her liking, but I am not ready to replace her memory with new ones. That all being said, I am really looking forward to clearing out all of my piles of books and making room for more! It rotates so smoothly and I did connect the wheels that come with it (2 of which have brakes) tho you don't have to if you want it to be stationary. And the wood is smooth and hard and gorgeous. Packaging was good too being as the box was damaged but none of the wood. I was a bit afraid to open it, but inside everything was fine. I would definitely buy again! If I can figure out how I will update once I have added the books!

Sturdy, well made and easily assembled. Holds many books and turns effortlessly. It also rolls, even on carpet and is easily relocated without having to remove any books! Functions as promised. It looks good in any room or setting. I highly recommend this excellent bookcase. It takes up a fraction of the footprint of a standard bookcase and is much safer as it cannot tip. I am planning on buying additional bookcases in various sizes to replace my standard bookcases as I have many books and this bookcase is solidly made, all wood and a handsome way to store my books.
