I am very pleased with these DC CDI boxes. I have tried a couple other DC CDIs from other Amazon sellers and was not able to get spark. These worked right away and I can't beat the fast shipping. For context I am using these to replace a pair of worn out DC CDI boxes that are firing ignition coils on an aftermarket Rae-San Hall Effect Ignition system for a 1978 Honda CX500. These CDIs are what drive the coils. Since these DC GY6 CDIs are common off-the-shelf parts and consumable they can be easily replaced. But I have found they are not all made equal, and had went through several other brands that did not spark. So I was very happy to find a brand that worked. These new CDIs eliminated an intermittent misfire that developed at top and bottom ends of the rev range on the worn out units. I will be purchasing more of these to keep on hand. Should these fail prematurely, I will be updating this review but I am just pleased to have found something that works for my application.

The CDI went out on my metric side-by-side, and this was the solution. I have had no issues at all since installing it, and my machine has been runnning perfectly. Just make certain you know whether you have a DC or AC CDI box before you order, as they aren't interchangeable and will not work if you purchase the wrong one.

After 5 hours of use timing pickup sensor quit sending signal to spark to the cdi during the troubleshooting process found there was a short from the 12v switched power pin top right if looking at the pins and the timing sensor signal input pin. The short was measured with all wires disconnected. So I'm not positive if the cdi shorted out the pick up sensor or vica versa but ridiculous quality which ever one was at fault or both.
