These are plastic cases, much like an oversized DVD case, with a strong, spring-loaded clipboard clip attached to the front. They are fairly sturdy. The plastic is about as stiff and thick as that of a DVD case. My first box of these contained a broken clipboard even though the packaging was undamaged, so I was worried that they were brittle and fragile. I returned and replaced them. Now that I have had a chance to use them, I have found them to be pretty sturdy after all. They provide a nice solid surface to write on much like a traditional clipboard, but unlike a typical clipboard, you can put your papers inside the case to keep them from slipping out or blowing around. You can also use the back of the case as a flat surface to bear down on if you don't have a writing surface available. I do wish the inside of the case had a second clipboard clip. The case has a latch to snap it shut, so it is unlikely to pop open if dropped. So far mine have stayed closed even when tossed around. The depth of the interior is about 5/8ths of an inch, so you can keep a small stack or pad of paper and some pens in it, but it isn't deep enough to hold a lot of materials. These are useful when you need to walk around and check things. I work in a lab, and I use them for tracking laboratory experiments, since I have to carry multiple stacks of notes and papers around all day. This allows me to keep each project in a separate case, and helps me stay organized while still being able to rapidly take notes on papers clipped to the front of the case. Considering you get 6 for around $26, I think these are reasonably priced - each costing a bit more than $4. They are neat-looking, durable, and useful. I do wish there was an interior clip and that they were a bit deeper. Conclusion - 4 stars from me. I purchased this 6-pack of storage clipboards and have been very pleased with how practical and sturdy they are. I run a lot of volunteer events and community projects. Because of that, I'm always managing a ton of sign-up sheets, clipboards and loose handouts. I really needed a set of storage clipboards that could handle being tossed into my trunk without cracking apart, and this six-pack has been awesome. The storage compartment inside is super deep. It snaps shut really securely, so papers don't spill out if I happen to drop one. I love the inner plastic folder too because it lets me separate blank forms from completed ones right away without any hassle. The top metal clip is strong enough to hold a thick stack of paper without warping anything. Plus, it gives you a nice, solid surface to write on when you're standing up. My only complaint is that the outer plastic is pretty smooth, so they can slide around a bit if you stack them high in your car. But honestly, getting six of these together is a great deal for anyone who needs to keep their paperwork organized on the move. I'd definitely get these again if I need more for our team.

Sooooooo..... I can't say I'm impressed. These seem about average, but feel oversold by the marketing which always docks points in my book. I like storage clipboards. I've been using them for years because they're a great way to keep your various papers safe from being scattered if you drop them, keep them from bleeding on to each other when writing (because you can have only the sheet you're working on out while the rest are safe inside), they're just a really useful tool. Pros: -The metal clip is solid-feeling and has good tension and grip -These open like a book, with the hinge on the side, rather than opening like a notepad with the hinge on the top. Side-openers are easuer to work with in my experience. -Convenient hanging hole. More on this later. Other thoughts: These are advertised as being made from "thick waterproof plastic" (paraphrased) and one of the images points out the "durable hinge". Being plastic, the plastic itself may be waterproof, but that's kinda obvious, right? Realistically, these would offer some protection to the documents inside but this would be best described as "splash resistant". If one of these were to fall in a puddle or pool water would definitely get in if not through the seams then through the nail-hanging hole in the back. The hanging-hole is a great addition, but calling this thing "waterproof", even if worded in a way that technically isn't a lie, feels misleading. Sturdiness? I haven't tried dropping the thing from atop a staircase, but the plastic feels a bit thin to me- you can easily press the top and bottom layers together from the outside when there's nothing inside to act as a cushion. Granted, though corners and edges feel thicker and sturdier, so maybe the shock of a drop would be transferred from the hard edges to the softer more flexible middle? At the very least, I don't feel like my writing is goung to be hampered, so there's that. But as fpr those "durable hinges"- they're just thin areas of plastic like what you'd find on a typical weekly pill organizer. I'm not fond of this kind of hinge, and I'm definitely not a fan of calling them "durable". So. Is this a decent set of clipboards for your "I need a bunch of cheap storage clipboards to keep kids occupied on a road trip"? Absolutely. Would this work if you them for a short while and don't care if they're expendable? for certain. Under normal office use they might even last a while. This is a great set if you just need quantity and quality doesn't much matter so much. But if you need something that will survive lots of rough treatment I'd look elsewhere. Thanks!

These clipboards are reasonably well made and work as advertised. They aren't bulky yet hold enough papers to be flexible. The spring clip is easy to open yet holds securely, and teh rubber corners on it are a nice touch.

This review is for the YesBes brand ‘6 Pack Clipboard With Storage, High Capacity Storage Clipboard 8.5”x11” Letter Legal A4 Size Paper’. These clipboards are essentially just large, flat plastic boxes with a clip on one side. If you remember the old VHS tape boxes from the 80s and 90s, they flex just like those did, making writing neatly a little bit of a problem. The box section is made of a kind of plastic that can take an impact just fine, so no need to worry about falls. Eventually the hinge will give out, but until then it should hold up fine under normal circumstances, and I can’t imagine the average user will use it enough to wear out the hinge anyway. The clipboard box is roughly ¾” deep, with the internal capacity being slightly less. The box opens at the middle and has no way to secure any papers inside, so if you overload it with loose papers, they will fall out the next time you open it. I suggest paperclips or folders for internal organization. The clip is easily the best made part of these storage clipboards. It is quite strong, though not particularly deep. Regardless, it should hold roughly a single subject notebook’s worth of paper before you start to lose end sheets. Overall, I don’t like these as much as I wanted to. I had been hoping for something a little deeper and sturdier, or at least with a clipboard surface more rigid, but these should work well enough for most people. If precision of writing, regular use, and long term durability are your focus, you should probably look for something made of metal. If you just want a clipboard you can store papers in, these are fine. Four stars.
