It's a good setup but I bought it to cut down .50 Alaskan cases to 50-70 and it didn't work out for that but it should be fine for small wood projects.

This little saw has been ok for some hobby wood work I've been needing to do for a while. The blade is good, but you may need to use a wrench to make sure you tighten the blade straight on the nut closest to the saw handle. Otherwise you might have a bit of rotation going down the length of the blade. I recently used the saw to make a 45 degree cut on a 3/8 in wooden square dowel, and was disappointed to see that the process caused me to grind into the guide and hurt one of its edges. I've included a picture of two of the channel edges so you can see how the original finish appears versus after me using it once. The saw would be 4-5 stars if it was a bit studier or allowed me to rotate the other end of the blade a tiny bit for better accuracy on the blade length, but with that and the cheapness of the guide, I removed two stars.

I picked up the 6'' Mini Hacksaw and Mitre Block Set for some small projects around the house, and it honestly works way better than I expected for its size. The saw feels solid in the hand, and the aluminum frame doesn’t flex or feel cheap. It gives you good control, which is perfect when you’re cutting in tighter spots. The mitre block is actually super handy. It keeps your cuts straight and clean—especially on small pieces of wood, plastic, or PVC. I’ve already used it to trim some plastic tubing and a small wooden dowel, and it cut smoothly without snagging. The set comes with two spare blades, which is great because swapping them out is fast and easy. For quick DIY work, hobby projects, or anything you don’t want to bring a full-sized hacksaw out for, this little set is perfect. Definitely worth the buy.

This things already gotten me through 2 projects with zero issues. The frame could take a serious beating i tell you, and the blades are indestructible, i still have the initial one slapped on there and it hasn't budged or worn in the slightest. I suggest you order a couple of them if they're still available. Would be a perfect camping companion.

I used this hacksaw on a sink job recently to cut PVC, and it worked surprisingly well in a tight enclosed space. I can see it working fine for small dowels, additional PVC, pine, or maybe even thin aluminum. It’s very lightweight, and I had to adjust the blade tension a couple of times, so I wouldn’t use it on heavier materials or on longer precision cuts. The included blades are usable for softer materials, but I’d probably use my own replacements for anything beyond basic tasks. The handle is comfortable for short jobs, and the small aluminum miter box is a nice addition. For quick DIY tasks where you need something compact, it gets the job done, but it’s definitely a light-duty tool. Pros: ✔️ Compact and easy to handle ✔️ Works well on light materials ✔️ Aluminum miter box is a useful extra ✔️ Fair price for occasional use Cons: ❌ Blade tension is limited, can slip ❌ Frame flexes if you apply too much pressure ❌ Not suited for heavier-duty cutting
