These are great landscape staples they’re sturdy and long—a good size to tack down tarps or fabric. However the price is pretty high for landscape staples. I guess since there are so many staples this is probably a lifetime purchase. These are sturdy, they hold landscaping fabric well. The ends are sharp and go in well and deep. They also pull up fairly easily is you have to pull them. I’ve used them for landscaping fabric and also to hold a hose and sprinkler in place when watering. ... show more

I ordered a 35' landscape edging fence a little while back. It was going to go in a part of the yard that we have seldom used very often and where the soil is very compacted. But when it arrived it didn't have metal securing items, instead they were long plastic spikes. They were hard to work with and left my line in a crooked shambles. And I just didn't trust them not to wiggle up through the ground and out over time. But I knew what would work: high quality, metal yard staples. Subsequently I ran across these and ordered them. These are the real deal. (However, for some reason I thought I was ordering 60 pieces, but somewhere along the line the quantity turned into 220. That's all right, I'll use them all eventually). I removed the few plastic items that I had managed to coax down into the soil and went to work with the 6” X 1.5”, 11 gauge lawn staples. Before long the line was appearing and it was much, much straighter. The right tool for the job. I didn't use the small hammer that was provided because these went in with heal or hand. Nor did I use the gaskets. I didn't want a nice row, and a bunch of ovals not in a consistent line. However I did use the supplied hooked removal tool a couple of times when I went off course. It came in very handy. Up one side and down the other, it was a faster and more precise process. Finally I was done bending over, and so was my back. Now I have to get my handy dandy blade edger out and place a demarcation line around the contained area. I will also trim the current grass and weeds down to the ground and fill it up with some soil mixture and mulch. Then it will be what I envisioned for rhubarb, strawberries and bush beans. Our first edible plantings. I also see us using the gaskets when the strawberries have born fruit to cover the beds from birds and squirrels. There I will need the gaskets. If I had stuck to the original stakes, I would probably be out there still, but these MAT-7 Banquet landscape staples saved the day and a lot of time. So for saving precious time, their stability and being practically invisible I am giving these yard accessories 5 Stars. ... show more

I ordered the MAT-7 BANQUET Galvanized Landscape Staples 6 Inch 220Pcs 11 Gauge+220Pcs Gaskets+ 1Pcs Hammer+1Pcs Pick Hook Garden Stakes Landscape Pins U-Shaped Weed Barrier Fabric Garden Fencing Edging Landscaping to use for some weed barrier I put around a newly-planted apple tree. So far, the weed barrier is staying in place. I like that the staples/stakes come with a small mallet to pound the staples/stakes into the ground and a pick hook to pull up the staples/stakes if you want to move them. The staples/stakes and gaskets seem fairly thick and sturdy and were easy to use. I'm not sure how well the staples/stakes will hold up to the wet weather in the Pacific Northwest; time will be the test. I didn't need all that many staples/stakes and gaskets for my small project. I anticipate using these staples/stakes for other gardening projects, such as light wire fencing to project some of the more vulnerable plants in the background from my rambunctious dog. I use a lot of landscape staples in my yard because I'm in a never-ending battle with bindweed, which means any area I want to keep clear needs weed barrier, and weed barrier needs to stay put. I bought these to replace some older staples that had rusted out, and so far they've been working well. They went into the ground easily, and the plastic disk is a feature I appreciated more than expected — it keeps the barrier from pulling straight through the staple and ripping, which is a real problem with cheaper versions. I can't speak to rust resistance yet since it's only been about a month, but the quality already feels better than the budget staples I've used in the past. ... show more

This is a high quality landscape staple set. It comes with all the tools to make using these staples very simple and installed correctly. I have been using these for various projects around my garden and I already noticed something about these that far surpassed my old ones. They really thought of everything with this set: staples, gaskets, mallet, *and* hook! Honestly, the little mallet and hook were half the draw for me in getting this set. They just make everything so much easier. (Normally, pulling up a staple is just soooo much fun… /s) The handles on the mallet and hook are comfortable to hold, and the hook has a little bit of rubberiness that will prevent it from slipping out of my hand while pulling. The dimensions in the bullets are a little off; the mallet is about 9.25” long, and the hook is about 6.5” long. Perfect lengths, though, as far as I’m concerned. The staples are standard weight for gardening situations (11-gauge), and they feel good. I love that they included an equal number of gaskets, and they’re definitely sturdy enough to do the job. No more ripped tarp. This set covers everything, and if you compare what it costs vs. what it would cost to buy the component parts, it’s an amazing deal.
