I am a casual skater. I go with my kids once or twice a week and enjoy it but have no aspirations of playing hockey. I do however, prefer hockey skates to figure skates, just my preference. These skates arrived at around 4pm and were on the ice by 5:30. No need to sharpen, completely ready to use right from the box. Skated for a couple hours and had zero complaints. Are they great skates? For someone like me, yes. For a serious hockey player, probably not. For someone who thinks rental skates are total pieces of *#@$, absolutely! I am a so-so skater had not been on a pair of skates for about 7 years. We were visiting my son's family who live in a new home on a lake in Minnesota. They had cleared off some ice so I had to give it a go. First, the skate size match my shoe size quite well and yes, you do need to have them sharpened before using. I went just about a half size larger and was able to double up on socks comfortably. I skated two times, first time for about an hour, second time for about two hours. While the shoes are a little stiff to start with, I had no problem using them on either occasion and my feet felt fine afterwards. THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME GOOD PADDING IN THESE SKATES. I PURCHASED THESE FOR MY HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS. I HOPE HE WILL LIKE THEM. THEY LOOK LIKE THE PICTURE. AND I AM PRETTY SURE HE WILL FIT THEM WITH THE SIZE THAT WAS RECOMMENDED.

These skates are pretty good looking. Fits just right! Would recommend 1/2 size up to have room for laying or thicker winter socks. Happy with them. 👍

Purchased as a gift no half sizes, didn’t want to buy too big and not fit supportive enough by going up a whole size. Bought shoe size like other reviews say tts but definitely size up if in between.
