  • Hey Google!... this is a pretty good TV!
First, this thing is super light-weight, at least compared to my old LCD TV that takes 2 people and a winch to move. I’m not installing this on a wall, but given how light it is, I could with confidence. This TV runs much cooler than my old LCD, which was like running a fire pit behind it – nice to have a much cooler and lighter option. Assembly is pretty simple, it’s just 2 legs (4 screws). The directions for the 2 legs are just OK – they provide arrows, but don’t really say which way they should point… it’s forward, with the longer part of the leg toward the front of the TV. The ports on the back are HDMI, so if you have old style AV connectors that need plugged in, you will need an HDMI convertor… they provide 1, which is helpful - if you need more, they are relatively inexpensive. This is going to be true for most newer TV models. There is a “line in” and a “line out” jack(s) on the back of the TV, which I like. No Roku needed with this – everything is already built in…. plus, the remote has a voice control option the works with Google assistant. The remote seems intuitive enough and works well. It’s bigger than a Roku, but also more functional – I like it. The only thing missing is a headphone. BTW, you can still use your Roku with this unit if you prefer, just plug it into one of the HDMI ports… but you won’t need it. The screen goes almost all the way to the edge of the frame (what little frame there is) – really appealing design for watching a movie. The most important part may be the picture, and it is as advertised, clear and sharp. I’m not a TV expert, but it looks plenty good to me, especially at this price. The sound is OK, like any of these super thin TV’s, the speaker is in the back and it does ok reflecting sound, but if you are an audiophile or really want great sound, you will probably need an external solution. One little nitpick… once it’s in place, if you have to look at the back (from the side), you will not be able to see the name of the port because those are listed flat on the back panel, so I would take a picture before setting in place - it’s also in the user manual, so don’t lose that. Setup was pretty easy – you can use the Google Home app or do it manually. I tried using the app, but ended up having to do it manually because of the way Spectrum manages our network (don’t get me started on Spectrum). Manual setup wasn’t overly burdensome and once done, I had no issues. Accessing the various apps/providers is easy peasy. A well thought out design. I have an old Sony, a newer LG and now this… this is the least expensive of the 3, but also now my best TV. Great picture, decent sound, easy setup, lightweight, intuitive remote & interface, no Roku needed, etc. Hey Google! – nice TV. ... show more

  • Great image and sound for its price
I have been looking for a 55+ inch TV for my workout room, and suddenly, I saw a brand I had not seen before. The specs were great, and the price was appealing. I decided to order, and I have not been more surprised by a TV in its price range. It is a feature-rich 4K UHD Google TV with HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. The latter is usually found in higher-spec TVs. To start, it came quickly. The box was super light, and the packaging looked cool. I unpacked it, placed it on a soft surface to install the feet, and placed it on a table all by myself—it is that light. It came well protected and included the voice remote with batteries, two feet, a power cable, and the user guide with a quick installation card. The time came to power it on, and it did instantly. The setup process started. The first thing to do is pair the remote as indicated on the screen and follow the Google TV setup process. I already own a Google TV, so I was familiar with the process, which is very simple. I chose the installation using the Google Home app vs manually, and it went quickly and easily; my user was added at the same time. In less than 5 minutes, it was ready. After the Google TV process ends, you can add TV channels, which it did, and after five more minutes, I could finally see the first image, and it was great from the get-go. The Home App process made the whole process much easier; it connected to the Wi-Fi and my user automatically. The image is great; much better that I had expected; and thanks to the Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology, the image is smooth in fast-moving scenes, it does not make you dizzy and the scenes look more natural. I connected a sound bar to the HDMI port, and Dolby Atmos filled the room with great sound coming from all sides, creating an immersive experience. Dolby Vision made the whole experience more pleasurable. I am really pleased with the quality and all the features you get that usually are included in more expensive TVs. PFD might be unknown, but it will be better known as you get more for what you pay. It was one of the best Smart TVs I have owned, and it didn't break the bank. ... show more
