A Complete, Beginner-Friendly Airbrush Kit — But Better Instructions Would Help
I chose this kit because it seemed to include just about everything I needed to get a good running start with airbrushing. All I really needed to supply was the paint, and for my first project I decided to experiment with watercolor. As someone completely new to airbrushing, this turned into a fun little project that let me learn how an airbrush works while also getting a feel for the quality and performance of the kit. Setup itself was fairly straightforward once I figured out what went where. Unfortunately, there aren’t detailed instructions for assembling and operating the airbrush, so I did have to do a little research before I was off and running. The airbrush itself is metal and feels substantial and durable in the hand. The compressor has a plastic housing with a fully adjustable dial, and the included air hose is generously long, so you aren’t forced to work right next to the compressor. There’s definitely a learning curve to operating a dual-action airbrush. It took me a little practice to coordinate pressing the trigger for air while controlling the amount of paint being released. I practiced on several sheets first, which helped me get a sense of the spray strength and how small changes in the controls affected the amount of watercolor being applied. I initially experienced some extra droplets when beginning to spray, but this improved considerably as I got the hang of the controls. Given how adjustable everything is and the fact that I was a complete beginner, I believe much of that was user error rather than a problem with the airbrush. Once I got going, I was able to create nice soft watercolor washes and experiment with different levels of coverage. My 9-year-old even got in on the painting and had a blast with it. Using washable watercolor turned out to be a great choice for his first airbrush experiment, too. Two paint cups are included, one approximately twice the capacity of the other. The smaller cup was more than adequate for covering several sheets of paper with watercolor washes. I could see the larger cup being especially useful for bigger projects where you don’t want to stop and refill midway through spraying. There are also quite a few additional accessories, including cleaning tools and extra needles. Cleaning instructions are provided, although it’s not particularly clear how some of the included cleaning accessories are intended to be used, so I’ll need to do a little more research there. More comprehensive instructions explaining the setup, controls, accessories and their uses would make this kit considerably more beginner-friendly. Overall, though, I think this is an excellent value for someone who wants a complete airbrush setup. The compressor is included, the stepless adjustment allows much more nuanced control of the air pressure, the hose gives you plenty of working room, and the kit includes a generous assortment of accessories. There’s a bit to learn if you’ve never touched an airbrush before, but I had a lot of fun learning with this one and can see myself getting much better with a little more practice. ... show more

Excellent Beginner Kit, and the Compressor Is Incredibly Quiet!
I’ve always wanted to try airbrushing things, but it’s a fairly expensive and intimidating hobby to just jump into. This kit solves that problem. It’s a full airbrush kit with the compressor included. Minus paint, it comes with basically everything you need to start painting. This is definitely more of a beginner’s kit, but for the money, it’s very decent. It’s a great place to start if you’re curious and want to learn, or if your kid is looking to get into a new hobby. For the price, the quality is reasonable. Nothing out of the box was obviously defective, and everything worked as it should. The compressor pressure is adjustable up to 50 PSI via a dial, so you can play around with broader sprays or finer lines. It does struggle a little with really fine line work at lower pressure. With some practice, you can still do a respectable job. Using properly thinned or pre-thinned airbrush paint also makes a big difference. The very best part of this setup is the super quiet compressor. It’s not silent, but no exaggeration, this thing is the quietest compressor I’ve ever used. The lack of noise opens up all kinds of options. Say you do makeup for weddings and need to airbrush early in the morning in a hotel room… go for it! If you work late at night, live in an apartment, want to keep the kids busy with a project while you watch TV. Or maybe just need something you can use without annoying everyone around you. This is all absolutely doable with this compressor. The compressor only runs while you’re actively spraying. When you take your finger off the trigger, it stops. That helps keep things even quieter, but the downside is that there’s no air tank providing a reserve of smooth, consistent pressure. The airflow is fairly consistent most of the time, but every once in a while I get a slightly uneven or chunky spray. Almost like it spits a little, especially at lower pressures, or right at the beginning of a spray. Again, the paint you’re using and how well it’s thinned plays a big part in this too. I recently seen a DIY video of how to use a 2L bottle as a reserve tank with a low-powered compressor. I’m not sure how safe that is, but definitely something to think about. A small tank would definitely solve the start/stop air pressure issue. All in all, for beginners, kids, someone who has always wanted to try airbrushing, or anyone who specifically needs a quiet setup, I think this is a win. You get an entire functional starter kit without spending a fortune just to find out whether airbrushing is something you enjoy. If you’re a professional or already experienced with airbrushes, this probably isn’t for you. ... show more

Really good 50PSI Dual Action Airbrush Kit with Compressor.
I'm a novice at airbrushing but have always wanted to learn. This kit was perfect for me because it includes everything I needed to get started without breaking the bank. I had a box of small bottles of acrylic paint that was collecting dust so, after some research, I decided to use this paint to create a couple of cardboard posters using stencils and also work on my inner Picasso. I found some good instructions online about paint thinning and started with 50/50 mix of acrylic paint and water, which I modified to 40/60 pretty quick. The airbrush took a few tries before I got the sequence of what to adjust and how much pressure to apply. The airbrush itself is made of metal and has a good feel in my hand. The compressor has an adjustable dial, and the included air hose is long enough to allow you to move around your craft table. Again, the hardest part was finding the right control balance to successfully coordinate pressing the trigger for air while controlling the amount of paint released. I knew it was going to be a challenge so I had fun with it until I found the right balance. I did create a few strange paintings and a few good signs. There are 2 paint cups included which will allow you to work on a larger canvas or projects without stopping to refill. The kit also includes lots of cleaning tools, extra needles and other accessories that I'm looking forward to playing and experimenting with. I believe this is a great value at under $50 for a starter kit that has plenty to offer beginners like myself. Also, if you use Amazon's coupon, the price drops to under $40- which is a steal! Just be ready to experiment and have lots of fun. ... show more

Good beginner-level set
This is an excellent beginner to mid-level all-in-one set. The plusses are that you have all the extras that you're likely to need in one package. The compressor is far quieter than my far more expensive one, so I'm much more likely to use this when possible, especially if I might disturb others. This is a general purpose kit, so I wouldn't recommend it for very tight artwork. However, for many tasks it's fine. Given the price point it's a good kit for someone who wants to try airbrushing without breaking the bank. ... show more

Excellent hobbyist air brush kit with everything needed
Excellent hobbyist air brush kit with everything needed for spray painting and cleaning. All one needed to bring is the paint and cleaning solvent if using none water based paint. The air brush has multiple adjustments to meet different painting needs. Those include Air Pressure tuning, Dual action trigger, and Multi-Size Interchangeable Nozzles. One needed to keep in mind this is a Hobbyist kit, not a professional one with a high pressure air compressor and reserve tank at a much high price point. So the advertised Infinite Stepless air pressure and Dual action trigger, are more like a stepped function, not smoothly infinite. Understand that this is an excellent hobbyist air brush kit at this price range and it will serve you well. ... show more

Precision painting made easy
This is an excellent starter airbrush kit! The airbrush is easy to operate, and functions perfectly. The pressure is adjustable, and the nozzles are easy to change out to provide either wide or precision strokes. In combination with a paint sprayer, we are using this to paint missed sections that the paint sprayer either missed or did not cover the intertwining sections. It's extremely useful for going over sections that were missed after removing painter's tape. The set includes a compressor that functions well, 3 nozzles, and a cleaning set. It has yet to clog up once, and it's extremely easy to clean and maintain - and doesn't have left over paint residue inside after cleaning it like other airbrush kits. It's also fun to make art with this set when not doing projects around the house, as this serves a double-purpose as a neat little airbrush pen. Overall, a great starter airbrush kit at a great price. A must have for DIYers! ... show more

Perfect portable air brush
This thing is so convenient with it being portable. Its great for small stuff as the compressor is small, so if you are trying to do big stuff not so great. Versatile Paint for Earrings – Husband Loves Being Able to Branch Out!
My husband really likes this paint set. He previously only had materials for alcohol inks, so this has allowed him to expand into different techniques and styles on his earring projects. The paint applies smoothly and holds up well on the surfaces he’s working with. The results look clean and professional, and he’s been happy with the coverage and finish. Having it's own little compressor is very handy and clean up wasn't too bad. Having more options beyond just alcohol inks has opened up new creative possibilities for him.I’ve included a photo of some of the earrings he painted so you can see the results. Overall, a solid, useful product that has expanded his crafting options. A good choice if you’re looking to move beyond alcohol inks into other painting techniques for jewelry. ... show more
