  • Good price, good quality

All strings work great only issue is the input side of the strings on the visual explanation of these led strings in incorrect. The input is actually at the power injection side of the strings. Normally the power injection would be at the end of the string and the input at the beginning. I saw that several reviews said that none of the strings worked. I'm assuming these people could have made the same mistake as I initially did. ... show more

  • Absolutely garbage - do not buy
Ordered 1000 of these and they are horrid. Right out of the box half the strings had dead pixels that wouldn’t pass data. See the pic as it’s a sting of 500 and data doesn’t get past pixel 49 lol. (Easy to test with a known working sting of 100). So returned those and got replacements. Out of the replacements 3 strings didn’t work out of the box lol. Then on top of that they are extremely power hungry compared to regular 12v pixels and need power injection every 100px. We run close to 40k pixels on our show and wouldn’t wish these on anyone. The only reason we got them was our regular vendor was out and we needed asap ... show more

  • High Failure Rate And High Power Consumption
I went into this purchase knowing they may not be the best, due to the low price, but I needed over 3500 pixels for a matrix display. I ordered 15 boxes of 250 pixels and here are my findings. They use Xconnect ends which is basically industry standard in the pixel world. I appreciate this but don't understand why it's not advertised. They are bright and mix color well (when they work). They are power hungry as you can't connect more than 150, at 100% utilization, without pixel fluctuations or outright failure. My other brand I can go up to three hundred or more. The failure rate is ridiculous as out of 80 strands, I have already seen failure in seven. One of those strands failed after being installed in my pixel matrix which makes it extremely maddening as installing them is hard. I also had the resin separate from the interior of one of the pixels during installation so most likely that one will fail when exposed to moisture and give me another failed strand. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your pixels until this company can ensure a better quality product as in its current state, it just isn't worth the Hassel and waisted hard work. ... show more

  • Seems to work well

Update 1-3-2024. After running them for more than a month for about 6 hours a day, I keep my rating at a 5. I had no issue with these lights. I'm not an expert in the area of LEDs and I don't know how these compare. I purchased them because they were the least expensive and had the black wire. They are 12V. I am using them with QuinLed Dig-quad and WLED and they perform as expected. The wire is much thinner than 18 gauge, maybe 22? I do feed it with 18 gauge wire and it is much larger than the power injector wires. I've hooked 3 sets (50 each) together and don't see any difference in brightness at the end with no injection after the first LED. We'll see how they hold up. So far, I've been running them less than a week. ... show more

  • Very good Led Strip - Make sure to quality wires and clean power and ground to avoid issues
I bought about 2000 lights for outdoor lights for my bushes and trees. In my initial testing I noticed I couldn't get more than 2 strips connected in series (to a ESP32 running WLED) to light correctly. A couple of customers suggested that I check my power supply (which was good - 12V 10A) *and* the wires connecting it. In my haste I was wiring 12V and ground through the breadboard that my ESP32 was on. Completely forgot breadboards are horrible for this and incredibly noisy (it had been about a year or so since I dabbled in my electronic hobby, so I forgot this). Connecting my power supply 12V and ground to quality 18 awg wiring *directly* to the led strip did the trick. In my test I was able to connect 4 strips together with no issues. Very happy. Here are some suggestions to avoid frustration if you're getting into this or re-acquainting yourself with led strips: -Use quality, clean power supply. Connect the 12V and ground lines to a terminal blocks and then connect your LED strip 12V and ground lines to there. -Use good quality wires for 12V and ground that run to the led strip. 18-20 awg should be fine. Avoid using breadboard dupont cables (in my case I used initially and had issues beyond 2 strips) -If using a ESP32/ESP8266, use a decoupling capacitor between the 3.3V/5V and ground on the chip. This will block noise on the power lines that may be generated when WIFI is on (I found that everything worked fine with FASTLED examples, which didn't use WIFI, but when I switched to WLED (which uses WIFI) nothing worked right. Use a 470uf-1000uf capacitor worked for me to clean this up. -For the data pin, the dupont cable in this instance is fine. I would use a brand new one if possible as over time the pins can become oxidized and not make good contact. Otherwise use a good solid core 22 awg wire for to connect the data pin from the ESP to the LED strip data pin. -May need a logic level shifter for the data pin. I believe the LED strip is expect 5V logic so this may be necessary. In my instance I didn't seem to need one (after implementing the above). The vendor has not spec sheet here so I am not certain. If I find out I will update this review. The specifics of this LED strip: -The start of the led strip begins with the female connector (the starting point matters) -The solid white wire is 12V, the dashed or faded white line wire is ground, the middle wire is data. -This is using a type 3 50 cm xConnect connector. There are similar looking connectors that don't fit (I wasted time trying to get xConnect pig tails for splicing. Once I got past all the above issues, everything works nicely with ESP32 and WLED and the leds are beautiful. I took one star off because the vendor could publish the correct pin out and connector type upfront. Wondering what's what is a massive waste of time. Good luck ... show more

  • Great price, Xconnect ends
I purchased these during a sale. I went for the 2000 pixel count box (40 strands). Other reviews mentioned they were xconnect while others said they were not. I can confirm that they ARE xconnect connectors. I cannot speak on longevity but I did test every strand to ensure I got any issues taken care of before the refund period ended. Only 1 of 40 strands had an issue. I felt it was excessive to return the whole box for one strand so I called customer support and they took care of the issue. They are no longer on sale so I opted to have them send me another box and I just won’t send back the original purchase and I’ll get charged the sale price I paid prior. I was debating ordering more prior to testing, as pixel lighting is an addicting hobby. But the price went back off sale to over $100 more. So I’m happy. I’ll update later if the life expectancy is real short. ... show more
