I got this shelf specifically to display some of the smaller items I have acquired through years of flea markets and thrift shops. For my needs this is perfect. Each shelf has a weight limit of 22 pounds (which I doubt I will get close to) but I wouldn't use it for mostly books, unless you also use books ends as the shelves are open on either side. Assembly was very easy, make sure all the stickers that say "backside" are all on the same side of the unit and it's hard to mess up. The instruction were easy to follow too. I did use a small drill to attach the shelves, but it comes with an allen wrench so you don't need a drill; I used one for speed and to save my fingers from all that turning. I did use the allen wrench on the back panels though since I wanted to make sure they weren't cross threaded and I didn't want to risk cracking the wood with a power tool. If you have kids, pets, or carpet, I would strongly recommend using the included wall anchors since this is a tall and narrow shelf and could be prone to tipping, especially if the weight of items is mainly toward the top shelves. The way this is assembled there is some vertical play if you lift up on the shelves, but overall it seems sturdy and the adjustable feet make it easy to get the unit level.

The Homhedy 6-tier bookcase wasn't hard to assemble, but just took a little time with the little wrench that is included. The picture directions were easy to follow, and all the parts were neatly packaged and labeled. The posts and shelves fit together well. I like that the shelves have a grain to look like wood and the dark brown looks nice with the matte black steel frame. The shelves are quite sturdy. It has a nice, simple appearance that should work in about any room where you need some storage but don't have a lot of space. We have large bowls on our shelves to store vegetables that don't need to be stored in the refrigerator.
