One of the things I didn't like about my new home was that the previous owners installed brass can lights throughout the first and second floors. Granted, they were nice can lights, but they made the ceiling look dated (from the 1990s). I found these retrofit lights while browsing on Amazon. I took a chance on them and am so glad I did. They were super easy to install and instantly transformed my dated ceiling. I was able to use all but one of the lights ordered. Several of my ceiling lights had different configurations. Three were gimbal style, and one didn't have a fixed socket. I had to try a different brand to work with those can lights (I needed ones that had clips to hold them inside the ceiling). Nonetheless, the lights that I did use look great. They are so much warmer than what was there, and I like the way they blend into my ceiling. Regarding the price, these lights are of great value. The only negative is that you must adjust the length of the socket several times to ensure a tight fit when you install them. I set the distance so that the ring was as close to the ceiling as possible but still had room to turn to connect to the socket. This gave me the best finish, flush and snug. ... show more

This is great product that simplifies replacing halogen recessed lights. It was much easier for me to adjust the length and screw these in versus pinching the clips and pushing my other retro-fit lights up. The metal clips would snag on the holes in the can while I was pushing them up, or taking them down and it was pain to get them out. However, these screw in lights have much lower lumen levels than my push up retro-fits so they are not nearly as bright. Don't assume, as I did that all 4000 color temperatures provide the same brightness. My push up retro fits (at 4000 ) are 1080 lumens and these screw in bulbs are 800. The result; my kitchen is remarkably dimmer. At this point, I'm not sure whether I will put the push up retrofits in and take these out. Secondly, you will pay more for these on a per light basis. So, check the color temperature AND the lumen levels you need if you are attempting to make a like for like replacement. I would have given it 5 stars but these are more expensive and not as bright as my push up retros. ... show more

I had sylvania all in one trim and bulbs, first and replaced a couple with soliseed which isn’t a good fit as the sylvania, but they stopped making the sylvania. The soliseed ones are hard to push flush to ceiling leaving a small gap

I had been to a few hardware stores looking for retrofit lights for some older 5 inch cans lights in my 1968 house and nothing seemed to fit correctly. These fit perfectly and were easy to install. I bought a second set of them in case, but its been about 3 months and everything has been good so far. I could not find these in stores, I am glad they were available here.
