This bow rake comes unassembled and the most worrying aspect for me is the multi-section handle. The actual rake head seems to be well formed and strong. The handle is smooth metal and comes in four sections. The bottom section gets bolted into the rake head via two machine bolts and lock nuts. The rake comes with two small open-ended nut wrenches for tightening those nuts and bolts to secure the handle to the head. But those wrenches are almost worthless as they slip on the nuts far too easily so plan on having to use your own tools to properly tighten them. The issue I have comes with the rest of the handle. The remaining three sections of the metal handle screw into base and into one another via approximately one-inch threaded sections. You put A LOT of stress on bow rakes when loosening the soil and all of that stress and force is transmitted through the handle. I just don't know how well this setup will hold up in practice. Once assembled and fully tightened, the rake feels very solid and weighs less than my old wood-handle bow rake. Last year (2023), with the near constant weekly downpours here in the northeast, my old bow rake saved my vegetable garden. My garden is in a low area and was practially swamped last year with all that rain. I would get out almost every morning and rake that soil to introduce air into it and encourage evaporation. I would get down at least two inches and sometimes as much as four inches, in heavy, wet soil, which put massive stress on my bow rake. It was a lot of work, but when a lot of other people in my area had terrible yields, I had a bumper crop of beautiful big heirloom tomatoes and hybrid cherry tomatoes. All that despite the very wet summer. I just don't know if this new rake would be up to the task. It could very well be. But I won't know until the rubber hits the road. I will update this review once I can actually use this rake. I'm going to optimistically give it four stars for now.

I was concerned due to the detached design it would be flimsy. However, it's quite solid and I was surprised how compact the box was. The rack works well and is a solid metal piece.

Between the comfort, portability, and the adjustment options, this rake is a no-brainer. As someone on the shorter side, the ability to adjust it exactly to my liking has been incredible. This also makes it pretty versatile; anyone from a small child, to a full grown adult, could use this rake. Honestly, I haven't had the opportunity to use this rake much. I did test it out for a few minutes, but I didn't do a full raking session. From what I can tell, this appears to be decent quality and generally well made. The rubber grip is fairly comfortable to hold, and the rake itself is semi-lightweight. Quality is comparable to others that I've gotten at my local stores.

This isn't a heavy-duty rake for the tough raking jobs. I does well on soil that isn't heavily compacted, such as that in a raised garden bed. It can be used for harder ground and stubborn clumps but not sure how long this would last on the job. I do like that the handle length is adjustable because there are jobs where a shorter one would be more beneficial. It's also lightweight compared to rakes with solid wooden handles, however, that sometimes can take away from the effectiveness.

This rake comes in a small box and I was immediately dubious that it would be strong enough to use. I was quite wrong. I was able to completely assemble the rake in under three minutes. It comes with tools that you need to attach the rake to the handle but I used my own tools instead. Once assembled, the rake has a nice weight and works well, The tines of the rake are very sharp and I was impressed at how effective it was. The handle has a hole so it was easy to hang on a hook in the garage for storage. If you do this, make sure it is placed so the tines won't accidentally cut someone passing by. If it turns out the handle does not stay together or the rake head readily falls off, I will come back and edit this review. However, I suspect it will remain untouched (unless I return to add more positive comments). Recommended to add to your gardening tool arsenal.
