Great investment, it actually freshens the air unlike the dozens of products that advertise this ability. As a rideshare driver, keeping my car odorless is a must. What’s great about this purifier is that ever since I started using it, I noticed I no longer have to constantly buy air fresheners or use deodorizers between rides or after a shift. It doesn’t seem to matter what the odor is, It’s usually gone within a few minutes. I’m sure this depends on car size but I wasn’t expecting much, nor was I really sure what to expect at all to be honest. All I know is it just works. You plug it in and forget it’s even there. Simple and straightforward. The light happens to match the colors of my car’s interior lighting, so it looks natural. I don’t know what people are talking about in other reviews referring to it being noisy, I don’t even notice a sound whatsoever. I’ve also gotten far more compliments about my car smelling good ever since I started using this purifier. One of the bonuses is it seems to override any air fresheners so using something like Ozium allows it to work as intended but without leaving behind any noticeable odor or scent. I’ve asked people what my car smells like since I’m probably nose blinded to it at this point and so far every person says it smells like a “new car” (I don’t and never have used the “new car smell” fragrances). I’ll definitely have to read up on the science behind this product as this thing is like magic and I’m really glad I stumbled upon it. Definitely adding this to my list of essentials to always keep in the car. Don’t expect it to create smells or fragrances—It’s not that type of air freshener. The best way I can describe it is like it actively soaks up odors, leaving you with a very noticeable fresh air quality. If you’re looking for something that puts out a certain fragrance, this is not for you. If you’re looking for something that cleans and purifies the air in your car, this is what you’ve been looking for all those times you spent in the auto air freshener aisle. Would absolutely buy again and plan to install one in every vehicle I drive.

Some people are saying this device doesn’t work; I don’t know whether they got defective ones or whether they just don’t know what to expect from an ionizer, but I can tell you mine works. I know what a functioning ionizer feels and smells like, so I plugged this in and immediately got close to it and took a whiff. Not only did I smell the negative ions but I started feeling unwell within a minute or two, which is a risk with ionizers. Their proper functioning involves the emission of ozone (that’s what you actually smell when they’re working), and exposure to too much ozone can cause health problems (I didn’t realize this when I conducted my little test). This is not a mark against this device; my having felt that way after getting right up to it and snorting the ozone (a not-very-bright move on my part, I guess) simply proves that the one I got works. I’m also more sensitive than many people are to various physical stimuli, so what makes me feel yucky probably won’t have that effect on a majority of people. Exposure to negative ions/ozone in moderation is a good thing; running water gives off negative ions, which is a major reason waterfalls are so exhilarating to be around. As with all ionizers, you’ll want to use this one with care, and not more often than necessary. But 4WDKING generally makes good stuff, and provided the device you receive is not in some way defective, it will do what it says on the tin. I’ve only used it for a few hours so far so I can’t speak to its longevity, but it did do a nice job of cleaning food smells out of my car. I’m a vegetarian, more or less, and I drive for DoorDash, so I bought this device primarily to eliminate meaty and other unwelcome food smells from my car, and it does seem to do the trick. Not all cigarette lighter sockets (and things designed to go in them) are created equal so I can’t know how it will behave in other people’s cars, but while some other inexpensive devices have exhibited the problem reported by at least one person of not staying in the socket, this device does stay put and functions just fine in the lighter socket of my 2019/10th-generation Honda Accord, even while traveling over bumpy roads. One person talked about metal construction while in fact all the external parts of this device are plastic. But the grille thingy on the business end is chromed and could reasonably be mistaken for metal. The blue light is kind of bright, but it blends perfectly with the blue factory lighting in my car and I don’t find it distracting at all; quite pretty in fact. In summary, I’d say, based on my limited experience, that if you’re looking for an effective air purifier for your car, giving this one a try is worth your while.

This thing is not to be trusted! Purchased in Nov 25, and plugged in my cig lighter ever since. Since then, I've prob driven about 800 miles with it. I didn't notice anything different in the air, nor did any of my passengers beside the "cool blue light". Today, while cleaning the car, I noticed "burn" marks on the top and the inner ring of the device. It should definitely not look as shown on pictures. This is a liability at this point; so it's going to the BIN right after this review is typed. Be aware of possible headache this can create on your vehicle circuitry. A small failure can affect fuses all the way up to your ECU. In dollars, it translates to a couple dollars to several thousands depending on brand and model of your vehicle. Be safe! Do not chance it!

My son bought a truck that had a lot of smoke smell. He tried a lot of other things but this seems to work great! It’s small, makes no noise and it lights up at night. He loves that this is working and is going to buy another for the back seat since it is so small and doing a great job.
