  • A TV masquerading as a Monitor
So just getting right to the point, this is my second review on this monitor. But, I thought it was worth sharing my thoughts on it because honestly people need an honest opinion of these topics as it is associated with high price purchases such as these. So, hopefully this one will make it through. PS. I don't think Amazon likes my shameless plugs to my Yo... lalelulelo. But, it's ok because you have it as long as you see my user name so lets begin. First of all the presentation. This LG has the same build as the other ones, thus making it unproportionally built and bottom heavy. Not necessarily a bad thing but something to look out for when unboxing. Honestly, the way most people unbox their televisions nowadays, upside-down, I'm surprised that LG doesn't get a lot of return or maintenance requests because of bending caused by the unproportional build. But, that's not necessarily a big issue. Another design aspect to this monitor is that it support display ports and HDMI ports. I know that is standard for monitors but it emphasizes that this is indeed a monitor and not a television and like always the color depth of the display port is very good. A negative is that this 48 inch (pause) display behemoth may not be for everyone because it's huge. When watching full screen, you are definitely going to have to scoot back if you want to take it all in (pause) as far as presentation goes. Also, if you are going to use an desktop arm, you're going to need a visa extension mount for it, as it is much too big for the average 10 to 15 pound desktop mount. This monitor was meant to be put on a rack mount, so yes you're going to definitely need the vesa's. Finally, lets get into the picture quality. I'm not going to get into the color depth, color correctness, HDR effectiveness or any of those. Lets just say that this TV's baseline for picture quality is easily at or exceeds the baseline of OLED 4K TV expectations, as far as some of the best TVs out as of 2024. Yes, it has all of the dimming problem that all other OLEDs have. But to me it's kind of a moot point because in order for this particular monitor to go dim, the image has to be static, which is what you want when trying to avoid burn in. The anti-glare really works for this monitor. I don't really have that problem because my office is on the same side as my window but really this feature really shines in the dark, sort of speak. Anyway, if you can get this refurbished, you are in for a real treat. At only 750 dollars, I consider this a steal. There are no OLED TVs at this quality for anything cheaper than 1000 dollars, especially the 32 inch. Really, OLEDs has been pretty mainstream for a few years now and are still really expensive. This is just a good buy. However, time may be up for purchasing these at 700 dollars because I do think that these were overstock that Amazon were trying to get rid of so it's a shame. 700 dollars may be the cheapest you will ever get a OLED monitor at a retail. The organic light emiting diode material is just too expensive to make. And unless they figure out a way to make OLEDs cheaper, I do expect that OLED will always be a product that is sold over 1000 dollars, which is really a shame. Great monitor, hopefully you can get one when or if they are ever in stock again. -Al ... show more

  • Great monitor! Worth the price.
I don't usually buy monitor that cost $1000+ but I felt like treating myself and I don't regret it one but. The only issue I have is with the remote, the round selector feels like it is not working correctly and because of that I am giving this 4-stars. Also why is the remote so huge? Anyways the monitor itself is very good. ... show more
