I set up this Heavy Duty Slip and Slide directly on the grass. At first, I was worried the water pressure would not be enough, but once the water started spraying, both sides were pretty even. The kids were a little slow the first time they slid across, but later they kept going faster and faster, diving forward on their stomachs. The slide is much longer than I originally expected, so it does not end too quickly in the middle. There is a bit of cushioning from the grass underneath, so hitting knees on it does not feel too hard. The two included slide boards glide pretty smoothly once wet and do not need constant readjustment. By the end, grass and dirt do get carried onto it, but spraying it with water cleans most of it off pretty easily.
