    • Easy to use. Pretty thick.
Another update: No change in what i said earlier, but wanted to inform that this product doesn't seem to soak into the cork, is more of a top layer. I hope it doesn't peel off in the future. Update: I’ve used this stuff on all my cork handles. All my baitcasters were dirty, so i cleaned with water and a magic eraser. Worked great. Let them dry and then coated with this sealer. My spinning rods are a different brand and the cork had holes in some areas. The sealer filled them in nicely. The thicker the coat the shinier the dried look is. Still happy with it. This stuff is thick. I put it on a cork handle, and it dried without changing the feel or look of it. The brush is nice, but once I globed some on, i found that my finger came in more useful to smooth and distribute. Overall, easy to apply/use, and i plan on putting on all my cork handles. I even put it on the black foam parts of the handle and it didn’t wreak it at all. We’ll see how it performs over time. ... show more

When I received this sealer, I was kind of disappointed, because it was so thick that I was afraid that it would not work, but decided to go ahead and try it. To my surprise, it spread out smoothly. evenly, and dried quickly. It looks really good and adheres good to the cork. The compatibility and durability will last a long time. The cork is well worth the money. It goes on the cork nicely and makes the cork waterproof. I like the fact that I do not have to worry about the cork handle on my fishing rod getting wet when getting in and out of kayak, and during kayak fishing. The first thing I noticed about the Nuanchu Cork Sealer is that it is a bit thicker than the better known sealers I have used. This was a bit of a concern. The cork did not absorb it nearly as quickly, and I was concerned that there would be some surface residue once it dried. This wasn't an issue. Also, there was very little discoloration of the cork. It retained most of its original color. I build my own fishing rods, and assemble and turn my own cork handles. When I select a particular style of cork ring, I don't necessarily wish to see it darkened when the sealer is applied. Most sealers I have used do this to some extent. I was also surprised to see that an applicator brush is part of the bottle cap. It isn't a great brush, but, then, a great brush isn't required to apply cork sealer. How well the Nuanchu product seals and preserves cork handles won't be known for a while so on that aspect I cannot comment. The price is a bit higher than the sealers I typically use, but only by a little. All in all, I suspect that this will be a serviceable product. ... show more

I recently picked up the Nuanchu 4 oz Cork Sealer for my fishing rod, and I’m really pleased with how it’s been working out. As someone who loves spending time on the water, I wanted a product that would protect the cork handle from wear and tear, and this sealer has definitely delivered. First off, the application was super easy. Just a few swipes and my rod was good to go! I’ve noticed a big difference in how the cork feels; it still has that natural handle feel I love, but it’s now much more resistant to moisture and stains. No more worrying about dropping my rod in the water or accidentally getting it dirty. What really surprised me was how well it has held up against chipping and cracking. After several fishing trips, the cork still looks new. Plus, it’s nice to know that I don’t have to reapply it constantly. The waterproof formula really seems to be doing its job. First time to use this product. It appears to have worked well. It was easy to apply. There is a brush attached to the inside of the cap to use for applying the sealer. I instead used a small paint brush since I didn't like the bulkiness to the cap. But it is a good touch that they include it if needed. I am including before and after pictures. I took a before, an after one coat, and after two coats picture. I really like the results. Once completely dry there is no tackiness to the sealer. As far as how well it will preserve the cork I can't say yet since I only just applied it a week ago. It is likely worth the money to protect your handle and give it a good stained look. ... show more

Cork sealer is good for keeping your fishing rods from falling apart, and I also used it for my Birkenstocks, which apparently need it too. It's easy to use and keeps my cork handles from falling apart after getting wet.

I, like others, found this sealer thick and not easily absorbed into the cork. I applied with the brush and then spread the sealer with my finger for efficiency. Since it was so thick, I laid the rod on a space heater so the glue would thin and absorb; who knows if it worked. The color was nearly unchanged but I could see the sheen of the glue once dried. After I applied the sealer, the cork handle is noticeably smoother and slicker. This is actually a negative for me, because I like to have a firm grip on my rod when casting. Durability? Who knows? I have cork handle rods that are decades old and the cork handles are fine. The oils from my hands seem to seal them naturally and this product is not necessary. To give a durability assessment I would have to use the rod for decades. With that said, if you want a cork sealer, this does seem to be a good value. ... show more
