Disconnect the tool from the air supply. 2. Remove fasteners from the tool. Failure to do so will cause the fasteners to eject from the front of the tool. 3. Lift up the D-shaped pin to an upper location(Fig.1). 4. Pull down the quick release lever to release the flooring nose cover(Fig.2→Fig.3→Fig.4). 5. Pull open the D-shaped pin with force, and take it off the pin slot, and then remove the flooring nose cover(Fig.5→Fig.6→Fig.7). 6. Push the quick release lever back to the nose cover, and it becomes a regular 18 gauge nailer/stapler 2 in 1 tool, make sure the no mar tip is mounted. 1. Take off the no mar tip(this is only for finish and trim works), no need to use the no mar tip for flooring installation. 2. Adjust the thumb wheel to the deepest depth location(Fig.9). 3. Loosen these shoe adjusting knobs to release the movable shoe and flooring contact piece in a flexible position. 4. Place the contact piece on top of hardwood flooring , and push the nailer towards the hardwood flooring(Fig.10). 5. Place the nose tip flush with the tongue corner of hardwood flooring. Once you are sure the contact piece is flush with the hardwood, and shoe is flush with the subfloor, fasten the adjusting knobs(Fig. 11). 6. Pull the trigger, the staple shoots through the tongue corner.

  • Quality tool
Installed a large room with 3/8 engineered hardwood flooring and this gun worked flawlessly. Well worth the price.

  • Worked well for me
Put down a 3/8 inch shaw hardwood floor, about 300 square feet. I put 7 drops of oil in the gun about every three clips of 1.25 inch staples. Ran at 100psi. Gun worked flawlessly. No misfires, do doubles, no jams. Relatively easy to adjust to the flooring and held adjustment well. Definitely way lighter than my pc framing nail gun. For me it was easy to handle from both sides. Was able to get close to the wall in both directions. Had to blind nail the first three planks by hand when starting, and the last two when ending. I recommend this nailer. ... show more

  • YouTube the manufacturer for better instructions.
Gun works fine, no misfires. The manual says it converts from braid nailer to staples but doesn’t say how. At first no staples fired. A quick check on YouTube showed that you must rotate a tang on the back of the gun 360 degrees to change from nailer to staples. It then worked fine. I took a star of due to the nebulous manual not anything wrong with the gun. ... show more

  • Good, reliable and better than renting!
Terrific stapler for the price. I got it instead of renting a stapler for a 3/8" engineered hardwood floor project. I'm not done yet, but I haven't had a single misfire or jam yet. Just be careful when placing the stapler on the tongue. Because everything is half size of full hardwood, it's possible to misplace it and fire the staple in the wrong place. That's a result of using 3/8" flooring and not a shortcoming of the stapler. ... show more

  • aboute- 3PLUS HFS509040SP
This review is for those who know what goes into laying parquet flooring and how to choose the right tools. I bought this nailer specifically to install 2,500 square feet of engineered parquet (1/2 in). I want to say that it was very easy to work with this gun, and absolutely no problems arose at any point. ... show more

  • CHEAP CONSTRUCTION: Average Harbor Freight type, one use throw away gun for small jobs only
I've seen some glowing reviews of this staple/nail gun, and have to think that the author's are a bit inexperienced. Yes, this is an adequate gun for a small job. It feeds and shoots reliably - not one misfire in 12500 staples thus far. It's a solid gun, and comes packed like the Harbor Freight "Central Pneumatic" guns, and I have a few of those, so that's not necessarily a negative. The gun itself is equivalent to the $23 "2-1" 18 gauge gun at H.F., bolt for bolt, so I'm sure it's made at the same Chinese factory, albeit with the flooring plastic attachment. So, again, it's solid. I just put in 12,500 3/4" staples in flooring underlayment. For the negatives: 1) Construction is just unnecessarily cheap. The plastic nose pops off with any amount of pressure, so just discard it after the second or third time. (You might get marks on your material without it, from the metal forks it covers, but it's going to come off the gun every 10 minutes anyway.) 2) The gun doesn't maintain consistent drive depth. Either the staples blow through the material, countersinking too deeply, or it leaves them high, requiring a nail set and hammer to set them down. The depth adjustment wheel under the trigger is of little help. The compressor I'm using is well regulated, and I run about 95 PSI through the gun. Without the plastic nose, there are two metal forks that act as both safety and depth measurement, and they will compress into the wood when firing the gun. If you have a light touch, the staples can be too high, if you press a little harder, you end up blowing them too deeply into the wood. It's a real nuisance that you wouldn't have to deal with a better quality gun. (Try tapping down 1/3 of 1200 staples, and you'll get an idea of how much of a nuisance it was. It wasn't quite that bad, but on some sheets, it cost me an additional 15 minutes tap the high staples down. If my wife used the gun, we had to spend 10 minutes readjusting the depth.) 3) Again, as with #1, construction is cheap. There are two plastic adjustment knobs for the floor attachment, and one was missing. (Fixed it with a bolt from a local hardware store, but still ... cheap.) Summary: It's a $23 Harbor Freight gun with a $10 plastic flooring attachment. My advice: I had the chance to pick up a reconditioned BOSTITCH or SENCO gun for about $40 or $50 more, and if I did this again, that's the direction I'd go. This gun just has too many defects for a flooring project. Buy a better used one, or put out the bucks for a new SENCO and sell it after your project. ... show more

  • Amazing on oak flooring
Saved the day and the project. Was replacing oak flooring that was installed incorrectly. Used this instead of a hammer actuated nailer. Worked flawlessly. Made the whole project music easier.
