I hooked it up perfectly as it show in the instructions (this ones installation is pretty much fool proof) and without a load even on it just spinning the pully itself on the shaft no belt no compressor it lasted a little over 1 minute before I had to cut power to it because it started smoking so bad I thought it was gonna catch fire. I do have to say tho they did return 100% of my money so that was good but a collosal waste of my time when time is what I didn't have. ... show more

This is a powerful and heavy motor, equipped with a 7/8" shaft for driving heavy-duty devices. Runs smooth and has all the appearances of being a good buy. Time will tell if this motor will last the long haul. UPDATE! I ran it for about 10 minutes and suddenly I heard noise inside the motor. Quickly shut it off and removed the end cap, only to find the centrifugal starter switch and wires were ground up and destroyed! Returned it and Amazon received it a week ago . . . still waiting for a refund. ... show more
