My old A.O. Smith 312P439 recently bit the dust. That motor was superseded by the Century C655 which is 3X the cost of this motor, too steep for my blood! So, I decided to give this Elite 3/4 HP Painted 56 Frame Boat Lift Motor a try since the price was right. I studied the manual and rewired the motor to work with 120VAC and my existing Bremas drum switch. Works like a charm, glad I bought this motor. The motor also came with a new shaft key and mounting hardware (bolts/nuts/washers). All in all, I'm a happy camper and my boat lift is back in action!

The Elite 1hp motors were a perfect replacement for my 30 year old A.O. Smith boat lift motors. These motor units are sealed so insects and birds stay out. My 4 motor flat panel boat lift has new life. The instruction booklet is well written and instructive for wiring various set-ups. My experience has been 5 star.

The product was delivered in a timely manner. It came with good instructions but I had some confusion with my particular setup. I called the tech support where I spoke with a very knowledgeable person who helped me correct the situation in minutes. It is refreshing to receive excellent help via a phone call to a tech support number but to be able to fix the problem in such a short amount of time is unhear of.

Not for a boat lift. The wiring instructions were very vague but that’s the best thing about this motor. It sucked not sealed at all. Worked for a week had problems took it apart to find it was not sealed by any means and full of water. The other two motors (different brand) without a roof and no cover on the boat lift next to it have worked for 20 years now.

I called the very nice folks at BH-USA as I was replacing a discontinued A.O Smith boat lift motor. I wanted to be sure of the wiring changes between what I had and this replacement motor. While I was able to rewire my existing switch (because both of my lift motor switches are ganged together), I would highly suggest buying their switch and, if you can, their harness too, especially if you are a DIY'r. When my other motor eventually goes out, I'll buy another from them.

Exact replacement for the AO Smith motor. New change in wiring connections,. had to bring out the volt meter to assist in which wires to change in the Bremas switch. Changed the orange wire with the white and it worked the lift up and down as marked on the switch. So far Great

I REALLY wanted to have a painless motor swap-out after a recent hurricane... what should have taken 15-30 minutes took longer than necessary because I needed to change the motorv from 230v to 115V! I ordered an Elite 1hp painted 56 Frame motor only from Amazon (fulfilled by Boat Hoist USA). I read the reviews, and most are very positive. I was replacing an AO Smith 3/4hp 115V motor. It is one of 2 operated by my Gem GR2 remote. I was concerned when I saw the yellow warning label about Gem remote wiring on the Elite motor. (side note: BH-USA sells ONLY Gem remotes) 1. 1st of all, this motor is wired as a 220/230v! (I needed 110/115v) It can be rewired "by a qualified electrician" according to the manual and manufacturer's [BH-USA] website! - Don't you think this might have been kind of important to include in the description on Amazon!?!? 2. The instructions included with the new Elite motor are fairly clear and potentially helpful (however you don't know you are ORDERING a 220v wired motor UNTIL you receive it (and eventually read the instructions AFTER you have installed it as per diagram on your remote AND similar to the motor you are replacing). If you do a web search you can find the manufacturer, and with a bit of looking around their site you can again find an actually quite helpful manual - UNLESS of course you needed a 115v motor in the 1st place. 3. I have a Gem remote wired/connected exactly as shown by Gem, and text them a picture to confirm all is correct, yet no movement from this new Elite motor once wired. 4. Only AFTER everything else failed did we seek out the directions that share it is wired as a 220v, and not to mess with it unless you are a Licensed Electrician (try finding one at 6:00 Friday night! (turns out there was a bad leveler switch in the remote box) I am disappointed with the initial description of this product, only in that it didn't specify 220v that could be converted to 115v in the description. I hope this will save some others from the grief we have gone through (confirming voltage) :* 1st UPDATE - BH-USA did email me Sunday evening in response to an inquiry I made on their site - VERY IMPRESSED with their follow up. The email said they would contact me in AM and talk me through the simple process. This impresses me, I'll update after the call and procedures.. * 2nd UPDATE - BH-USA has excellent customer service! They immediately followed up with me, AND helped trouble shoot the problem. Converting from 220v to 115v was super easy (NO electrician required). I still wish they had advertised it as a 220/115v unit so we hadn't wasted so much time and been ready to convert it (in under 1 minute). Now that the 220/115v issue is resolved (we believe) the motor installation was a perfect fit. Under 15 minutes there. Raised review to 4 stars based upon excellent customer support (In America!) My only complaint now is that I believe it should have stated in the Amazon description that if you order the motor only it ships as a 220v. (and you can easily convert it)
