12 year old wanted a knife, mom said no, enter nifty compromise! These are actually really cool "knives". You get all three in this set. They are not going to cut anything so mom is happy. They otherwise function as each type of switchblade should so kids is happy. There's the standard utility knife style, the punk style that you push a button and it pops out the front, then one that launches the blade out completely. All function as intended. Kid had fun putting these together but he's somewhat of an expert at this type of thing so all 3 took him about an hour while he was watching TV. The fun part for him was taking them back apart and making adjustments to improve functionality. The first time he had one too tight, another one he added a second rubber band to. These are wood but they are layered so they are fairly sturdy. And the intricate details on the designs are so pretty but I wouldn't tell the 12 year old boy that lol.

Cute but the instructions are not always clear

This wooden puzzle set includes three military-style knives, each with a detailed hilt and a moderate assembly difficulty, rated 3 out of 5. The set contains 134 total pieces, all clearly numbered and uniquely shaped, which makes the picture-based instructions easy to follow. I liked that the manufacturer included helpful building tips, such as using dry wax to make fittings smoother, along with suggested tools like an art knife and sandpaper. However, two of the three instruction sheets were half the size of the first. This made them hard to read even with a magnifying glass. The wood pieces themselves are sturdy, with all decorative cutouts already cleanly removed, so no extra punching or sanding was needed to get started. The English translation in the instructions is slightly off, but still easy to understand, and the QR code printed on the instruction sheet did not link to a relevant video tutorial — instead, it led to a general chat app download. Despite that, I found these wooden knife puzzles to be fun and straightforward to assemble. They kept me entertained for an afternoon and would make a great project for anyone who enjoys building 3D wooden models. Update: Reduced to 3 stars - the rubber bands in two of the three knives keep falling out. It appears to be a design flaw.

These are terrible. My son built the first one and the wood broke instantly. He cried and was very upset because he brought it the direction. They’re terrible and very hard to follow not worth your money.
