meh. i wanted to love this. but i just done. it was really hard to get the pieces together and stay together. some seemed a bit off in size or shape. cute end product, but lego type blocks are more fun for building.

This puzzle is moderately sized and, when completed, looks like the product images. The end result is indeed three-dimensional, but the pieces are standard small 2-dimensional jigsaw puzzle pieces, not any thicker or sturdier, but adequate for assembly.

I ordered this set for a rainy day activity, and it did not disappoint! This cute puzzle set was so enjoyable and relaxing to work on. It brought back nostalgic memories of when I used to do 3D wooden puzzles as a kid. The pieces fit together smoothly, and as an adult, I found it quite easy to assemble. I believe my 7-year-old daughter wouldn't have any trouble putting it together herself either. The final result is absolutely adorable, and I feel it's charming enough to display proudly. I got this for my 8 (almost 9) year old daughter. She loves these types of activities. This was perfect for her. Material is of good quality too. She is still working through it but has already put about an hour into it. The instructions are easy to follow and all the pieces are labelled. She has been able to do most of it on her onw but I have helped a few times on some of the larger pieces that have multiple connection points that need to fit at the same time. Overall very happy with the product. She loves it.

I wasn't quite sure when ordering if it came with both building sets, but it does. You get two sets, one of each building shown, and they are each wrapped separately and contained in one box. The pieces come in three sheets of pressboard per building. The pieces are sort of perforated, so you must carefully punch them out as you go -- not all at once. It has a paper sheet with a full color photo of the completed building on one side and the instructions on the other. The instructions are black on white graphics with letters/numbers referencing each piece and where it goes. The pieces fit together in a notch and slot style. I'm about halfway through the Seaside Villa and it matches the pictures in the listing very well. It goes together alright, but you have to be careful putting each piece on, as it sometimes loosens other pieces that have already been attached, and I had to go back and reinsert some areas. It should only take an hour or two to assemble each structure. They have nice coloring that matches the photos, too. The packaging says for ages 8 and older, but I think kids under 10 - 12 will get frustrated doing this on their own. As a team project with an adult or older kid, then yes. Overall, this is a fun set that makes two cute little houses that are nice on their own, or can be personalized with added miniature accessories or paint.

This was a fun project for my kid and me to do over the holiday break. One is more holiday themed, and one is more beachy. We did both of them, and they didn't take that long, just a relaxing crafting afternoon. He's a little older than the suggested age, but it was still nice for both of us. I'd recommend it as a great rainy day activity that's not screen-based.
