I had my last down comforter for such a long time that I’m embarrassed to even think how long; I was that attached to it and it was that good. Subsequently, I agonized over finding a replacement. I looked everywhere, in store and online, and poring over reviews where they were available. This one came out on top of my search, and having had it for several months now, I can say with confidence I made the right choice. The comforter is perfect puffiness with a comfortable weight. It does that miraculous thing a good down comforter does: keeps you warm in the cold and keeps you cool in the hot. Some reviewers noted 1) feathers falling out—that didn’t happen to me, 2) an odd smell—my comforter had no smell at all, and 3) the comforter didn’t hold up well after washing—a down comforter CANNOT be put into a washing machine. So that’s my experience, and I’m very happy with my decision!

I was a little worried when it got delivered because in a pretty small box but it just vacuumed sealed. After opening the plastic seal I let it air out for a few hours and was happy to find no bad chemical smells. It also plumped up nicely. It is very soft so if you want to brave using it without a cover you will not be disappointed but I put it a duvet right away. After using it of a couple weeks I can say it keeps me significantly warmer that my comparable non-down blankets while also being more lightweight. The box stitch seems to be of high quality as far as I can tell and should keep the down feather approximately spaced out. It is worth it spend more to get real down feathers.

This was very warm, but even using a duvet cover, the feathers would work their way out and poke through the comforter, duvet, and our sheets making it uncomfortable to sleep using this comforter. We stopped using it within a few weeks.

Then, I ordered it the second time, in February 2025. This time a the box was different and did not contain any statement of the two quality indicators which are important to me. This comforter is fantastic and while I prefer to use a quilt in the warmer seasons, this will be my favorite for fall and winter. This comforter is amazingly warm and fluffy and so so cozy and soft. I absolutely love wrapping myself in it. Quality wise it seems to be pretty great and I haven't found any defects or issues with it. It's not too heavy and not too light and because it's not synthetic, it doesn't make me sweat like the down alternative comforters do. I have to admit that I'm quite surprised at how reasonably priced this is when you consider how great it is. So far, I am very happy with this purchase.
