Tool is bright safety orange and black - much brighter than I was expecting, which is a good thing. The metal plate at the bottom and the spikes are heavy duty all the way. Solid weld holding the u-bar to the plate. The orange powder coat is solid too. The handle is not as heavy duty as the tool though - I accidentally scraped some of the coating off just trying to attach the bots and no matter how much I tighten, it still feels wobbly. I will probably upgrade the handle at some point both to better quality and because it is just a touch short. I am 5'6" and it is barely high enough for me to be comfortable. I would actually prefer another inch or so. My partner is over 6' and he is bending over it, get a sore back. This makes it difficult to use for anything more than a small area. It does work well for tighter areas that we can't get the motorized aerator into. It is a little over 7lbs which isn't that heavy, until you are lifting it for the hundred and something time and yeah, your arms and back feel it. The rubberized handle is comfortable to hold.

This review is for the CKLT 39in lawn aerator with 15 spikes. This thing is heavy and those spikes are sharp, huge nails. It comes with extra spikes and the tools you'll need to put it together. Assembly is straight-foward. I wouldn't use this for a large yard. It takes a couple of seconds per push. You can either slam it into the ground, step on it, or push the handle into your waist. I then wiggled it back and forth to make sure the holes are there. The shaft is a little bit wiggly, but not enough to matter. I suggest that you impale the spikes on some of the packing material before storing -- they are sharp!

This lawn aerator does what it needs to do! It comes in a pretty small box and screws together, so the handle may not be as solid as some options from the hardware store, but it really doesn't need to be any tougher than this. It gets the job done and lets me aerate my lawn very easily. Highly recommended!

Really impressive build quality coming out of the box. All of the spikes were nice and tight and it uses NyLock nuts so they shouldn't really come loose over time. Super basic tools that is easy to use. On some really compacted soil it may stick in the tines a little bit and you have to break it loose and shake it out, but it definitely gets the job done. Works great for small areas that you want to spot treat, but it would take you quite a while to get a complete lawn done using just this tool.

Nicely packed pieces assemble easily to make a strong garden tool. The instructions are clear and the zip pouch includes two wrenches, bolts with non-slip nuts and two spare soil spikes. The nuts will need a second tightening after the metal compresses, but this feels like a tool that will last a lifetime. Nice enamel paint protects the metal. The handle has comfortable padding. The base has plenty of room to insert your shoe for pressing the tool into the ground. The sharp spikes will pierce even the hard clay ground in my yard. Don't expect to pierce thick tree roots, but this will stab through small roots. I have tried various other aerator tools over the years and this is the best manual tool ever. I recommend this product.

Great for lawn or garden area. Use this to break up the dirt a little to get the water or fertilizer down in the dirt. Easy to use. If the dirt is hard you can step on the flat part to put more pressure on the spikes to get it to go down. The spikes are pretty sharp for easier insertion.

Spring's here and this has been the perfect tool to restore the area along side the driveway. After a winter of driving off the driveway the edge is beat up badly both with no growth and might help a bit with the drainage along the side. It's a lot nicer tool to use than the round ones in that it covers more area but it does take a little more force to penetrate.
