Solid, high quality materials. We found it easier to drive the lower 2 pieces of each of the poles into the ground first, then assembling the top pieces to the bottom pieces after the bottom of the poles is firmly in the ground. (We placed a block of wood on the top end of the pole before driving it in with force, so as not to bend it with the hammer, and then add the top pole pieces once the short two-piece part of the pole is in the ground all the way.) Otherwise the small plate at the bottom of the pole might bend, when you try to drive them into the ground. The net fits and works great. The guy wire cables keep it nicely in shape, (be sure to tie bright ribbons or other markers to the wires so people don't walk into them accidentally.) Love how easy it was to assemble. We expected it to take days but it took only a few hours to fully set up. We tucked it away by the corner of the house and you barely see it (good for the HOA). We have used it every day for the last two years. My only complaint is that squirrels love to eat the net and we have to zip tie the the holes. Also areas my son has hits over and over has wore the net down so again we have holes. My husband just purchased a new net and our plan is to put the new one one and then put the old one over it. We added gravel and horse mats (tractor supply $30) to the batting area and we had turf but it got muddy so looking for something better. We also added lights which are amazing and we love it! No more fighting for cage spots at parks and rec. ... show more

    • Use the buddy cables and stakes!
Use the guide wires and secure cables that come with. My only negative is the stakes are not deep enough for monsoon season here in Arizona. Had a storm last week (6.15.21) and uprooted the stakes and guide wires. Simple solution to restake, but hopefully I won't have to continue to do it throughout monsoon season ... show more

    • Don't buy- not sturdy
I ordered this for my backyard for my son. Putting it up is a nightmare, since the bottom of the poles bend when you try to put them into the ground. The net is supposed to be heavy duty, but a small bird flew into the net and immediately tore it. After a few days, another hole was made in the net by a bird. I tried to get a refund from the seller but they refused since I didn't put up the poles and net until after the return window closed. Absolutely would not recommend this!!! Amazon was also incredibly unhelpful with this as well- dissappointed. ... show more

We purchased this cage for our son and installed it on a slab. I used an inch and a quarter hammer drill bit for the poles and half inch for the tether lines. It has been 7 months and it is still holding up well. I have only noticed one hole in the top left corner above the pitching machine and used a zip tie to close it up. Overall I think it has been a good investment. The only complaint my son has is that it is hard for him to crawl under the netting to get inside since there is no door. ... show more

This bad boy is AWESOME... I purchased it as a birthday gift for my 7 year old granddaughter who plays baseball in hopes of making her a better hitter.. Paid off big time..Her next game she went 2 for 2 with 2 homeruns and 3 rbi"s!!!! I'm going to cement the "base" pins into the yard to help secure the whole structure..I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this item for ANY little leaguer who wants to up his game without going to the cages and spending money or waiting in line for an open cage... I got in there and took my cuts and I'm 61. The whole family got into the cage and took their allotted swings...Even my 3 year old grandson.. Also...easy installation. Next toy? A pitching machine.     • Just large enough
Would recommend for easier assembly making each corner of the netting vertical and horizontal double stitched for easy identification for pole placement. I would also recommend a center seam of double stitching to identify where the center poles should be placed. I also agree with other reviews that the spear end of the posts should be longer in length to grip further down into the soil. Yes, there is sag in the netting but as another reviewer said and I agree will need to purchase cable to run in an X pattern between poles to decrease sag. Poles are pulled as taught as can be without bending. Will try longer stakes on the support cables and or stakes that screw into the ground for better hold to keep poles taught and help decrease sag as after a few pitches noticed support pole cables pulling out of the ground even if placed on the angle. Be ready to spend about an additional fifty to eighty dollars above purchase price to make sure item is secure. Netting appears heavy, poles are thin but they were easy to assemble as they all click in to each other. Instructions not very helpful but youtube helped. Would not purchase again unless the items I mentioned were approved upon. Would look into a different style. ... show more
