30x10 inch Lawn Leveling Rake I have a small 17 inch leveling rake, but needed something to tackle larger areas, so I picked up this rake. The base came in two pieces which needed to be secured together with two small pieces of metal and a few bolts/nuts. I assembled this, but during the process noted tha the L-channel on the edge of one side did not align with the other half of the base. One side of the base lined up fine though. I took some sheet metal tools and bent the material so that it would align correctly, and it was good to go. The material the base is made of is relatively thin (compared to my other leveling rake), I would have liked to see a bit thicker material used on a part that will experience wear. This rake does have one redeeming quality though, the screw together handle. The handle is the best screw together handle I have come across so far. A lot of these tools sold on Amazon have these handles, and most of them come with cheap plastic threads or thread receivers, which screams “I will eventually break”, not this item, the threads, the receiving area, all of the handle is metal, and not the cheap feeling slimsy kind either. This is the screw together handle all others should emulate. Only other comment I have about the handle, is that it does not follow the normal pattern of having all pieces with threads on one side and a receiver on the other, there are a couple sections with threads on both ends, and a couple with receivers on both ends, meaning that adjustment of the length is somewhat limited. It does not matter to me, as I will leave it full length for ease of use, but something some might consider a negative.

I live on top of a sand dune. Seriously… my property is about a foot of topsoil on top of compacted sand. However, after winter I have portions if the yard that sinks because the sand beneath shifts. I spent this morning using the leveling rake to tamp the topsoil down. I took a star off because the tools included are useless. I had to find tools to put it together. Then I had a difficult time getting the first section of the handle into the moveable hinge. The threading kept going in crooked and it was difficult to turn. I had to get a spray lubricant to help it go in easier. The rake is heavy so it can do its job easier and the handle is really long - it’s taller than I am! But it makes it easier to use. It cleans up well. I have to find a place to store it, but the head folds up so it shouldn’t be difficult.

The rake comes in two pieces, I assume, for shipping purposes. The halves slide together firmly, and are secured with two connecting bars. All the nuts are self-locking. The tools to help assemble the rake are included. The instructions are very clear. The handle comes in sections and is a heavy stainless steel tubing, with fine threading on each end. There are five sections, with the end section having a very sturdy plastic handle for grip comfort. Handle sections can be added or removed to adjust the length of the rake. This appears to be a well-made product that was easy to assemble, and should provide a long use life.

This rake is very well built. The welds are strong and it has a sturdy stainless steel handle. Assembly was easy, with clear instructions and all hardware included. The connections are held together with lock nuts so it won't come apart and it's painted to prevent rust. My gravel driveway is always getting shallow ruts from my car. I ordered this rake to level out these areas. The rake is very smooth and it makes the work easier for me. I intend to use it to get my lawn in shape too. Great product.
