Finicky but works! Just figure out proper placement
Color: Grey
A little finicky - you have to figure out exactly where to hold the RFID token you're programming and make sure nothing else or your hand is in the way. Then it works well!

Does not work !!
Color: Grey
Hello I recently purchased this product to try and copy an encrypted RFID card. The reader turns on but when it prompts you to connect to computer it does now work with windows 11 home. Very disappointed no where online can one find an updated software to work on computer. Don't waste your money on this. ... show more

Works but very very finicky
Color: Grey
Well it worked for the first one I tried... I did have a little bit of difficulty reading the fob, But after moving the fob around and flipping it over and eventually finding the exact right location I was able to read it. Unfortunately I was not able to WRITE to another fob, It just failed over and over - however I tried to write to one of the white cards And that worked on the first try. With more time I can probably figure out exactly where the fobs need to be placed, But for now it's barely working ... show more

Genuinely Capable, Genuinely Under-Documented…
Color: Grey
I ordered the EDINRUIS handheld RFID reader/writer/copier to make life easier when I get roped into servicing one of the older access-control systems out here in rural America. Those are the kind of jobs that find you whether you want it or not…and they are invariably done as favors for friends in the community. Go figure. Bottom line up front…the device is genuinely capable, the advertised features are real and they work, but it ships with documentation so thin it will convince a lot of buyers they've received a dud. They haven't. They've received a good tool with a bad pamphlet. Let me bridge that gap. The hardware itself is well built. It's solid in the hand, and the 2.75" full-color HD display is bright and easy to read. I have no complaints on the physical unit at all. The problem is entirely in the onboarding. The included "user guide" is really a user sheet, and it leaves out the single most important thing you need to know to make the device useful. Here's the key insight, and it's the reason I'm writing this review the way I am. This device is really just the interface. The actual magic lives in companion software the reader communicates with. The instruction sheet barely tells you that, let alone where to find it. If you don't already know to go looking for the application software, you'll poke at the handheld for twenty minutes, conclude it's half-broken, and send it back. That's the trap, and it's a documentation failure, not a device failure. Once you get the software side sorted, the capability is genuinely deep: multi-frequency support across the 125kHz family and 13.56MHz (ISO14443A/B), reading and writing, and cloning of most common access, elevator, attendance, and parking cards. (Two field notes from experience. 1) For the 13.56MHz encrypted cards you'll need to connect it to a computer, not run it standalone; and 2) if you get a "write failed," just hit write a few more times and it’ll usually take.) It runs off four AAA batteries or straight off USB, and the package includes a useful starter assortment of T5577 cards and keychains plus CUID fobs to practice on. Now the honest positioning. This is NOT a consumer gadget for someone who just wants to duplicate their apartment fob and be done. It reads and behaves like a tool built for someone with a computer-science or electrical-engineering bent; a person comfortable hunting down software, reading between the lines of a sparse ODM manual, and understanding what a reader/writer actually does. In those hands, it has a lot of capability and it's honestly kind of fun. In the hands of the average buyer expecting plug-and-play, it's going to be frustrating and probably returned. Neither the listing nor the documentation is honest about that gap. I would like to give the hardware a more favorable review because it’s genuinely good. I just can’t overlook the near-total absence of usable documentation. That failure means most of the people who'll order this device aren't the people equipped to succeed with it. If you're technical, comfortable digging, and you want a powerful multi-frequency RFID tool at a more than fair price, buy it with confidence and go find the software first. If you just want to copy a key fob with zero fuss, this isn't the one for you, and nothing can fix that mismatch. Capable tool, wrong instructions, know what you're getting into. ... show more
