The media could not be loaded. I just recently started getting into photography- mostly for taking photos of my own kids. The problem is our whole house has recessed lights so no matter what time of day there are always shadows. I had been wanting a set like this but nervous about spending too much money on equipment my children could possibly break (walking baby in the house). I was really happy with how sturdy the tripods were but also that nothing seemed like it would shatter or breat- everything is lightweight and plastic while still being very well supported. I doubt I will use the color film options for photography but they will be fantastic for halloween and parties for uplighting. Very happy with this purchase and can see many uses for these. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these lights. I live in an older house and the lighting is horrendous. I’ve tried brighter lightbulbs for my lamps and nothing works. As soon as I plugged these lights in, my room completely transformed and it looked so bright. It made my skin absolutely vibrant on camera. One is enough, but with all three, you feel like an absolute super star! Highly recommend! I got these to set up a 3-point lighting system in my office for streaming. They come with (almost) everything needed to get up and running, however there are a few caveats. I'll start with what I like: Pros: - They are compact and light, easy to place wherever you need - They are easily adjusted for height and angle - The gels are easy to install, and it's nice they come with color gels at all - The brightness adjustment is fairly broad so you can dial in just how much light you want - They are LED so will consume less power than traditional incandescent bulbs (in this modern age, what ISN'T LED though) Now onto the cons: - The stands only go up to about 4 feet, so they are useless for placing behind desks/monitors. You'll have to put them on a raised stand, or on the desk itself. The stands are also fairly narrow-footed so they are likely to tip over if you accidentally bump the lights. - They do NOT come with power supplies and run off of USB (I assume they expect you to plug into your USB ports on your PC, or use a powered USB hub of some type). All of my USB ports are occupied so I had to scrounge the house for some spare old phone power supplies (and purchase a power strips with USB ports). -The gels, although nice to have, are the primary colors, but cast extremely colorful light (I use the yellow and blue as rim lighting, but it can be too vibrant/saturated at times). This could be what you want for artsy shots or accent lighting, but I would prefer some pastels suitable for slight coloration. - They are not as bright as you may expect. Decent enough for video if you have a reasonable camera and lens, but you'll want to shoot wide open and maybe increase ISO a few notches. - The panels themselves are somewhat small, so they act more like a point-source light that a true diffused panel. Sure, you can buy (or build) a softbox to enlarge the light surface area, but this would reduce the already limited brightness output of them. Not much of an issue for me, but might be for someone who doesn't have a lens that lets in as much light. Just something to think about. Overall the lights are good, and reasonable for what you pay. They could be GREAT with just a few tweaks to the stand design and included accessories, though. ... show more

The lights themselves are great for what I need (product videography on a turn table). The light stands could be a little taller, but I can stand them on crates, whatever... but the biggest disappointment was that I had to spend another $10 on usb outlet adapters. If they're powered by USB, fine, but include the parts you need to plus them into an outlet! thats what most people will be doing with these lights. ... show more

Having the lights powered via USB gives more options for power. I have a multi port charging station, but I could also use a power bank if I needed to be further from a wall. The tripods topple very easily, but the lights aren't fragile, so they have survived a few falls. For the price, it's a great product ... show more

I purchased the option that included 3 remote controls. Most of the writeups on this product addressed the versions that only have the controller wired on the usb cord. This trio of LED lighting arrive in a completely unmarked plain kraft brown with each component separated within its own box. Each lamp is divided up with its own remote control, color filters, pivot head, and user manual. The set does not include wall to usb adapters which is fine for me since I already own several and mostly use this lighting with usb port power banks or those large power stations that have both AC outlets and USB ports. The tripods are light with just enough thickness on the tripod supports and round tubing which are meant hold the LED panels. I have not connected brackets or devices besides the included LED panels on the top of these telescoping poles. Both the remote control and wired controller allows me to increase or decrease the brightness using 10 adjustment presses. This is quite a versatile range to go from dim shadow lit to bright shadow removal setting. The Remotes and Controllers are color coded. The remotes are Red, Yellow, and White so the LED panels wired controller with have that same matching color on the wired controller. When power is supplied to the panel the wired controller will have a Blue LED lit above the power button. No storage bag is included with this set but I kept the larger box and just place all the items back in the box. The only item I pack separately are the plastic filter sheets into one of the LED panel boxes. ... show more
