They are exactly as it says, its a fast charger. When you use a fast charge type cable, not all cables are fast charge capable I've found, it does charge the phone pretty fast. My phone even says "Fast Charging" when I use this, and from 4% to 100%, takes about an hour, my older chargers would take 3+ to do that. You get 3 for the price, so not a bad deal. If I need more, I'll get more of these. ... show more

Since the minimum charging current of Li-Io batteries is significant, chargers that provide a current of about 1A cannot charge some batteries (for example, an 18650 element). The FONKEN 18W 3A USB Wall Charger, which provides a current of 3A, is guaranteed to charge them.

    • Issues, but company is good.
Bought this to save some money and now I guess I should not have. I have a Samsung Note 5 and for all 3 of them the first few times it charged fast, now when I plug my phone into the charger (even using the cable that came with the phone) my phone goes into charging mode, then out of charging mode, then into charging mode, then out of charging mode.. and does this multiple times. Have to unplug, then re-plug in to hopefully get it to charge, but charges so ungodly slow. It no longer charges fast as it used to, so now I just have them in the drawer using up space and have the cheap chargers plugged back in as those are at least consistently slow rather than doing the Charge, no charge, Charge, No charge loop which causes my phone to drain power. UPADTE : Updating my initial review and upgrading the stars from a 2 to a 4. The company does review the reviews and they had contacted me directly based off of my review of their product to which they went to good lengths to make things correct. I have not had many companies that contact me directly based off of a review on Amazon, but they did and they do put a great deal of care into taking care of their customers. ... show more

    • Tested with USB Safety Tester with LG V20 phones
I have 2 LG V20 phones. I recently bought a USB Safety Tester from Amazon to see how well my chargers were working. This is the first Safety Tester I have used so cannot verify how accurate it is, but the numbers seem to be consistent between the different chargers that I just tested. I have the original LG V20 charger, 3 of the Fonken Quick Charge 3.0 and I just received a Aukey Quick Charge 3.0, Qualcomm Certified. All 3 of the Fonken chargers tested about the same in the Volts, Amp and Watt levels when I tested them. Using the Safety Tester with the LG Charger, Aukey and the Fonken with a phone at 57% charge level all charger started out at approx 9 Volts and 1.2A if the phone was turned off. The Tester shows between 9 to 11 Watts for all chargers until the charge level got around 80%. I don't know at exactly what charge level it dropped the charge since I did not monitor the test meter the whole time of the test. In my test once the phone got around an 80% charge level as reported by the phone, all the chargers reduced the Amp from 1.2A down to about .5A. Also the Watts dropped from 9 to around 4 or 5 Watts. If the phone was turned on, all chargers using the Tester showed Volts around 6.5V, 1.2A and 7 Watts. This could explain some of the reviewers having worse results? Several of the reviews I read did not disclose if their phones were turned on or off when they reported their results. In all my cases if the phone claimed it was going to take a certain amount of time to a full charge, that was pretty close to the time it actually took. For example with the phone at 52%, it estimated it would take 50 minutes. Since I try to not charge my phones to 100% I did not exactly know how long it would take to get a full charge but it was pretty close this amount of time. I also have an old Samsung Tab A 10.1 tablet. All the charges would only charge it at approx. 5 Volts and at 1.7A or about 8 Watts when the tablet was at a 59% charge level. I have been please with all these chargers. I have had a couple of chargers and cables to go bad over the years. This is one reason I bought the USB Safety Tester. I only have the LG phones and one older Samsung TAB A tablet so cannot claim these results would be the same for any other brand phone or device. I do prefer the Fonken charger over the Aukey since it is smaller and takes less room on my power strip. ... show more
