This handy tool has a wide variety of uses. While it doesn’t necessarily give me professional results yet, I believe my results will get better in time after a lot of practice. In the meantime, it does work better than without it. The tool is made of plastic: not too flimsy but not the highest quality, either. I don’t expect it to last too terribly long, but it’s cheap enough to replace easily enough. Since I’m a female and not terribly hard on my tools, it will probably last me longer than average, but if you’re hard on tools, I would expect it to break easily. The caulk scraper works pretty well, however, don’t get too aggressive with it. I ended up scraping the finish off the coated metal on my shower surround. Over time, it might become dull. Time will tell. It looks like it might allow for a sharpening or 2 when that happens. It’s attached with screws which indicates it can be replaced, but I have no idea if replacements are available. The flexible white attachment pieces come in a variety of sizes for smoothing new caulk to an attractive finish at whatever angle you prefer. However, these are pretty tricky to remove. Once they can be removed, they snap on family easily, though. Of course, the quality of the results depends on how smooth the object is you are caulking. I tried using this to smooth out the corner between the ceiling and the walls after scraping wallpaper, but the texture of the ceiling (knock-down finish) caused it to skip. This totally makes sense, but it didn’t end up looking as good as it did in my head. It still ended up looking better than it did originally though. The razor blade attachment is unfortunately the least helpful. The angle is too steep to work well: the metal razor blade ends up cutting into the surface and the plastic blade is too dull to accomplish much. I tried using it to remove a foam adhesive strip, but it was easier to just hold the blade alone with my fingers to get the correct angle. With all these pieces, it doesn’t come with any sort of permanent container to hold it all. Everything was simply shipped in thin plastic baggies and all inside a cardboard paper box. I ended up finding one of the kid’s old school pencil boxes to fit it all. I believe the plastic box set me back a whole $1 if I recall correctly. ... show more

As I have been repairing and upgrading around the house, caulking has been one of the main tasks. I was pretty excited to test the tool out. For removing caulk on the interior, this has worked quite well - easy to use and maneuver - I have not tested this outside yet. As for the smoothing process, it definitely could be better. I tried in the bathroom after installing new baseboards and quarter round, none of the attachments hit the the caulk for smoothing. After watching one of the recommended videos on this, the man stated you had to have a big enough bead for it to work when smoothing out, it looks like a lot of wasted caulk for the one small area. All in all, worked well and saved me time removing old caulk but adjustments could be made. ... show more

The smoothing feature comes unclipped when using making a bit of a mess but better than a gloved finger. The real issue was the first time I tried using the caulk remover feature, the handle snapped in half. Just a bad design where the screws hoding the blade to the plastic seem to cause a weak point. I was able to use this caulk removal tool to remove silicone from around the bathroom sink, mirror, and faucet. The corners were really easy to get into, and the blades came in handy for shaving the thin film of old silicone that was hardly visible. I used both the plastic and metal blades on the granite and mirror and I was able to clean it up really nicely before applying new caulk. I'm not able to remove the trowel to replace with different sizes because it's so tight and only held in with two tiny clips that I fear will break off. So I didn't change them but hopefully others will be able to without breaking it. I also think the trowels would be better if they were silicone or rubber because I feel it would not only be easier to swap out but would also make for cleaner curves. The hard plastic didn't allow for a good seal with the walls so I ended up using other silicone tools for smoothing because they form a tight seal against the walls. ... show more
