Important Details & Specifications: This kit includes a No. 3 - 4 Kg Clay Graphite Foundry Crucible and a pair of 26" Foundry Crucible Flask Tongs. Graphite Foundry Crucibles: These are made from a combination of graphite and clay, and are recommended for melting your precious, or non-precious metals and can handle large batches of material. Their thick inner walls can handle direct heat and open flame foundries. They can be used with our propane melting furnaces as well as a standard torch method. Rated to withstand temperatures up to1560°F to 2912°F (850°C to 1600°C). Dimensions: Outer: 5-1/4" Height x 4-3/4" Diameter, Inner: 4-3/4" Depth x 3-3/4" Diameter. 26" Foundry Crucible Flask Tongs: Heavy-duty tongs are perfect for handling our graphite foundry crucibles - ideally holds crucibles in sizes up to 7" in diameter.Please contact us with any questions.     • You get what you pay for, which isn't a lot
The crucible works. The tongs work, mostly. Honestly, these both look like they were created in either a Junior High shop class or by a prison work crew. If I didn't need the tongs to get me through the month I would have returned these and looked for something made at least by a High School shop class. I have other crucibles, produced by other companies, and the difference between this one and those is dramatic. I've only seasoned this one but I'm not sure it will take a full melt of brass. We'll see. ... show more

If you buy this set of items, it's 100% worth it. Tongs are ok quality, the Crucible is top rate. HAve run this crucible through 2400 degrees plus. Still holding together, but having a bit of trouble keeping it clean of materials. You can't have enough of these. Use each for one type of melt. Mixing melts is where I run into problems cleaning. Pouring Tongs are light construction, but usable. Good starter set. 100% worth it ... show more

The clamper is great! However the crucible isn’t worth it. Glad I got another crucible to use.

The tongs are large and heavy and the crucible is too large for smaller propane smelters. However if thats what you need I say buy it.
