It’s a cable. It splits an XLR connection. That’s what it’s supposed to do, and it does admirably. I used this in a pinch to hook up two mics to a single input on my mixer, and the signal was fine. Look, you don’t want to need a cable like this for that purpose. In a perfect world, you would have enough channels. I couldn’t see Eddie Kramer doing what I did, but I’ll bet you Eddie hasn’t ever stepped foot within 150 miles of the Red Carpet Lounge, and certainly never had the guitarist insist that his wife and her drunk friend get their own mics, just so they can sing backups terribly. The build quality is ok—not stiff, but not too floppy either. I wouldn’t yank it around or try to tow a car with it, but for live gigs, it does the job. If it holds up over time, 4-stars seems fair, If you need this, buy it with confidence. ... show more
