On the bench today, I’ve got some Solaradgy 24Pcs 7.87"x5.9" Vinyl Siding Repair Kit White Self-Adhesive Paintable Vinyl Siding Patch Durable PVC Patch Hole Vinyl Siding Cuttable for Fit and Cover Any Cracks Holes Blemishes. Upon first opening, it really made me think it was just some shipping label material. It was fairly difficult to tell the vinyl side from the paper backing, at least until peeling them apart. The vinyl sheet is quite thin but it did at least stretch instead when trying to tear it to make sure it wasn’t just a paper material. The adhesive has a moderate amount of tackiness but not remotely comparable to what you’d see with a quality duct or electrical tape. Hopefully it surprises me and lasts longer than I expect it to. I have a couple of very small rock chips, that happened late in the fall, in my shed siding and with them being as small as they are I figured it would be worth trying this to see if it can survive the winter. My shed uses an older siding that turned out to not be that easy to find a match to and it’s definitely not worth replacing more since it’s on the hidden side of the shed anyway. If these patches at least last the winter then I’ll put some siding on, that should be close enough to work, next spring. I put the two patches on after thoroughly wiping the area around the spots and had no trouble with them sticking in 50 degree Fahrenheit, damp weather. The paper backing was a bit of a pain to separate tho as initially the paper backing started to peel apart 3-4 times in different areas before I finally got it to peel off properly. After application, on the smaller of the two spots, about the size of a quarter, you could very easily see through the patch where the hole was. On the larger hole, you couldn’t really tell where the hole was behind the patch but of course could easily see both patches due to color differences even on white siding. Overall, these are very thin textureless patches with decent adhesive at a reasonable price so I think they’d be worth a try if you need something like this. Just don’t expect them to be invisible no matter what you do on anything that has a texture.

These vinyl siding repair sheets adhere very well. I got them to shore up a spot above the shower stall on a patch of wall paper where extra waterproofing was needed. The wall paper it covered is actually paper not vinyl and it patched it up perfectly. It should stick even better over vinyl. The sheets are similar to contact paper, strong with more elasticity. The packet comes with enough sheets for plenty of repairs.
