These are exactly what I was looking for. I travel a great deal for work. Most of the hotels I stay in have nice gyms, but some do not have free weights which was interfering with my fitness routine. I looked at water weights but I worried about the mold and ability to get them accurate. Then I saw these!!! The barbell piece is easy to fit into my suitcase, it doesn't take up any room (no more than a pair of shoes and less room than a pair of boots- I'd say high heel size), and I can just pack clothes right around it. I pack all of the weights in my backpack- so my suitcase is not too heavy. It does make my backpack heavy, but that adds to my workout with the walking in the airport (and I have a nice backpack). On top of the convenience, accuracy and portability factor, these are just cute! I got the Tiffany blue- which is super cute. They are high quality, go together easily, and surprisingly high quality for the price. Exactly what I needed. These will be going in the camper as well.

Easy and quick to change the weight distribution. Each brick you place on the dumbell are one pound. It can go up to 10 lbs. I have not had any problems with the weights coming loose or falling off, which I was concerned about since the weights snap into place. I love the color. The fun color reminds me to use them. However, at $69.99, these are significantly overpriced. I would not pay more than $20-$25 dollars for them.

One of my adult daughters has a goal this year of getting into better shape. Not only is she working on cardio, but has expressed an interest in some light weight lifting. She usually goes to the gym to treadmill and whatever else one does at a gym (don't ask me!). As she lives in a very small studio apartment, she doesn't have room for a treadmill and weight set at home. When I came across this compact set of dumbbells, I immediately thought that she might really like them, as they don't take up too much space. When they arrived, I had to get my husband to bring the box in, as it weighed over 20 pounds. Not having remembered that I'd ordered this set for her, I couldn't imagine what I had ordered that was so heavy! I started to worry Vinny might scold me for ordering more cast iron pots or pans - as they're my favorite, but I really don't need any more! Upon opening the box and discovering the weight set, I was not only relieved to not be in trouble with my husband, but also thrilled to see what a neat "gadget" this is. I instantly knew my daughter would love it. She stopped by later that evening after her workout and we gifted this set to her and told her how proud we are of her for all the effort she's been making this year. She said she didn't even know they made compact weights like this and of course she loves them! She had no problem picking up the 20 pounds and carrying out to her car! Really neat product.

These dumbbells are super easy to adjust. The bar is easy to hold and grip, even with my psoriatic arthritis. They were packaged very well for shipping and arrived in perfect condition. While browsing on Amazon, I have found similar sets much cheaper, and also more expensive. If you don’t have the extra cash laying around, take your time and shop around as I’m sure you could find a comparable set for less.
