I must be one of those people whose taste and olfactory buds are faulty. I tried, but could not appreciate this olive oil. It just smelled and tasted stale and old to me. I'm so disappointed. Most of the reviews are glowing. I reached out to the company directly, and they refunded my purchase promptly. They also wrote a beautiful and kind letter. Please don't let my experience influence your purchase. I suspect I'm one of the minority unable to appreciate these types of olive oils.

This is easily the best olive oil I’ve ever had. It’s not even comparable to the grocery store brands. It really smells like fresh olives, with a grassy pungency that speaks of its high quality and early harvest cold press manufacture. I use this on hummus as well as salad; I highly recommend eating it directly and not cooking with it except as a finishing oil. The complexity and depth of flavors is just fantastic, though if you’re used to the mild, soapy kind of oils from the store, realize that this may be an acquired taste for you. Either way, the health benefits and rich taste of this high polyphenol oil mean I will be buying it for as long as I can. I plan to try the robust next.

I have ordered both the White label medium, and the Black Label Robust from this Olive Oil Maker, and loved every drop of both. Currently buying by the case. With the high polyphenols and the rich, clean taste, this organic oil is one of my favorites. I am a naturopathic physician and have been fascinated by the value of olive oil, especially with high polyphenol content. You can taste the high polyphenols in the oil through the peppery aftertaste and notes of flavor like green plants. Peppery polyphenols mean more anti-inflammatory action, and slightly grassy or bitter polyphenols help your brain chemistry by acting against neurodegeneration, engaging autophagy (the cleaning out of brain cells from harmful proteins), and improving the status of the blood brain barrier. There is much research on the uses of olive oil for protecting the brain, and reducing the progression of dementia and cognitive issues, improving levels of certain neurotransmitters, improving metabolism, balancing gut flora, etc. My first experience of the high polyphenols in this oil caused me to have a full body euphoria feeling after tasting a teaspoon full on an empty stomach. It makes me feel great, physically and mentally, so my partner and I have been centering olive oil in our diet to improve our health and of course to eat something that tastes great. Also, very friendly people running the show at PJ Kabos, so enjoy!
