It has Samsung lm301h leds. Industry standards top. Very bright, dimmer and power knobs very easy to access. Great price. I believe it's made in China, but honestly, China has stepped up their game. The iPhone is made in China! They definitely are capable of quality for less!

Very bright consistent light. Spectrum must be good because my GDP Plants love it. Initially I may have cooked some leaves (early veg.). I set intensity to 40 and powered on. After seeing leaves I adjusted dim and nothing seemed to change. Took clear to 0 and lights went off. Turned up dimmer and worked fine. Keep that in mind on 1st use. Unit is relatively lightweight with nice hangars. Does not get hot. No noise at all. I plan on connecting to my 4” AC Infinity UIS fan controller. May update with how that goes. Great customer service! Can’t wait to run this light. Thank you. Spider farmer crew! -----UPDATE!!----- It looks like they changed the light pattern again. The IR dot is now in the center. Thats going to help them with people reporting a bad light. I wonder if they changed anything else.

I have three of these. Two current models and one slightly older model which doesn't play well with the newer model when chaining together, but has better components (metal ballast housing v. plastic.) I've grown a few different kinds of plants under two lights in a 3x3 space. They will grow okay and flower decently but I do not think the light is strong enough for fruits (tomato, melon, cukes, peppers, etc) to develop fully or at all. If you really want the fat colas you'll want to pony up for bigger lights. Bottom line, you'll get plenty of popcorn. ... show more

I bought 5 of these almost exactly a year ago and have them powered on 12 hours a day, every day. They are very bright and all of my plants… mostly succulents/cactus have responded very well to them. Since I put them up, I have seen significant new growth from plants that are 3 feet, or more, below the light. They are certainly cooler than a traditional 1000w light, but they still give off enough heat to feel it several feet away, which is only an "issue" if you have several next to each other inside the house or in a small room. The quality is great, so I'd have no problem buying these again, or hesitate to buy the larger, much more expensive lights, because I know they work. ... show more

This was a good bang for the buck deal I use it on my first girl and everything turned out fine the one drawback it has is that the dial for the wattage once it gets up to about 80%. That's all it goes it won't go to 100 but other than that it's a little light
