I noticed this product now has a warning that it is most frequently returned. Please be certain to observe your phone's USB Type and location. I use this charging adapter on a Nokia 8.3 5G phone - Really annoys me that Nokia does not make more phone models with wireless QI charging feature. Folks have noted that this charging adapter gets hot and will heat up your phone. As heat is not good for your phone's battery, I highly recommend using this with an air cooled wireless charging stand that is capable of providing 2 Amps charge at 5 Volts. The most common problem I have encountered is the inefficiency of the wireless charging stand. If you do a simple calculation and determine you only need a 10 Watt power supply you will be disappointed. While the combination of your wireless adapter and charging stand may still work, you will likely be disappointed with the performance with respect to the amount of time it will require to fully charge your phone. Look for a fast charger stand that is rated at 2 amps. While some of these charger stands have a button on the back to turn off the cooling fan, I recommend you always leave the fan ON. If the fan becomes noisy over a period of time, occasionally clean the charging stand with compressed air. Make sure you direct compresses air in both directions as the dust accumulation can be impressive. Using an adequately rated power supply WITH an air cooled stand, I have experience over 1 year of trouble free performance with this wireless charging adapter. I have ordered a replacement only because I broke my original one through my own mishandling of the connector. The connector is delicate and care must be taken if using a protective phone cover with the device. I do indeed use this device successfully with the silicone phone protector in place - In other words, the Qi receiver works through the protective silicone cover. ... show more

    • Add On Charging Coil
This worked pretty well for me. I got close to fast charging current although not the most my wall wart can do. I still like it and am using it now permanently. One thing to think about though is that when you plug it in and use a cell phone protector sleeve or case, it is not easy to unplug so it takes up the entire USB port on the phone. If you dont need the USB port for anything else that's great, but if you do it will be hard to use it with this plugged in because you have to unplug it first. I dont need the USB port much for anything else so it is fine for me but it sure would be nice to have a USB power on the power plug as well as the plug itself so i could use the USB port for other things while i have this coil plugged in. I did have a problem with the charging pads used with these coils, one did not work well but the Anker one works well so i am using that one with this now. The other little point is you have to position the phone on the charging pad you buy with this in a fairly exact position or it wont charge. The position is withing maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch top to bottom and side to side. That means you may have to move it around a little to get it to charge. All that said, i use it all the time now because i never have to plug anything in. It saves the USB port, the last older phone i had the USB connector started to wear out with all the plugging and unplugging and so it because loose with time. I tried the magnetic connectors and they worked for about 6 months then started to fail so i gave up on them and went to this coil and associated charging pad. Good luck. ... show more

Bought this because my new phone lacked wireless charging. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have the oomph needed to charge my phone nor does it fit or work well when my phone case is installed.

This was the second one I bought because the connector on the first one broke when I dropped my phone. It is easy to install and creates only a small bump on the back of my phonecase. It works well when used with my original Samsung charging docks, (I have one in the car and another one by my bed). It doesn't work at all with a cheaper dock I bought (but I had also problems using that one with my older phone that had a built in wireless charging system; I had to be very precise when laying the phone onto it for it to start charging). ... show more

i had high hopes for this product, especially given so few qi receivers are designed to operate at the fast charge rate of 2a, but after a few days' use i'm sad to have to say it hasn't met standards. this really quite odd receiver has a few issues: as others have noted it does have a tendency to get hot during charge cycles (not unlike the early days of smartphones or the early days of qi), it is enough thicker than most other qi receivers to easily be labeled "not case friendly" (which kinda defeats the purpose of any such product as far as i'm concerned), & oddly enough makes odd chirping noises periodically when it apparently decides whether or not it's going to function at all (i've never heard any qi device do that before, but the frequency & reliability of the noise leads me to conclude there's a defect in the manufacturing process which makes susceptible to an internal short). this product has potential, if the problems can be ironed out, but it needs to be brought back to the drawing board & put through more rigorous testing in a q/a process before it's sold again. ... show more

    • Buy a phone already set up for wireless charging.
Everything installed properly. Thickness was not an issue. A fatal issue arose, however, in regard to the charging process itself on my Galaxy A51 5G UW phone. The phone had to be laid upon the wireless charging pad in a very particular manner/orientation or the charge process would fail. After much trial-and-error, I was able to get the charge process to fully charge the phone. However, once it reached 100% charge, it did not maintain 100% charge, it allowed the phone to slowly lose charge. As I attempted to remove the wireless receiver, its' power plug disintegrated. Nice attempt to provide a wireless charging option but it did not work for my phone and charge pad. ... show more
