In my office/shop I have most any tool you might need for a home repair. Unfortunately, my office/shop is not in or near my home, so it takes a conscious effort to bring home tools and supplies for any repairs or projects I need to do around the home. So, I like to keep at home at least a set a tools to do most simple repairs along with a couple power tools to make those jobs easier. Also, We live in an apartment so those tools need to be organized well. I has a tool collection in a case similar to this for easily 30 years which I bought from the Sharper Image but over time tools have spontaneously disappeared from the kit leaving it close to worthless. Then I saw this kit, which has a better variety of tools and I ordered it. This is a pretty complete set of basic tools for most jobs a do it yourselfer does. Several different manual screwdrivers, ratchet driver with bits, level, electrical tester and electrical tape, measuring tape, razor cutter, Allen wrenches and more. The only other thing I need for most of these repairs is an electric variable speed drill with bits. A kit like this keeps your tools organized and handy whenever you need them. It sits on a shelf in the laundry area along with the drill kit which is in a similar case. This is such a worthwhile investment and at a very reasonable price.

I got this tool set to keep in my camper. I wasn't concerned about having super high quality tools in there, and I wanted something that was portable, compact, and easily stored. Since this came in its own case I thought it would be a great fit for my needs. It didn't disappoint too badly. It has all of the basic tools you'd want, except I think it could have included a slip joint pliers. It does have an electricians pliers with a wire cutter, but sometimes it's nice to have the slip joint for grabbing and holding larger items. The allen keys are all metric, which I feel is another oversight. I think it would have been better if there was a mix of SAE and metric. I like that it has two sizes of phillips and flat head screwdrivers. The tape measurer has both inches and centimeters. In the US, the centimeters probably isn't going to be that useful. The hammer is an old school all metal kind that reminds me of the hammers my dad had in the 70's. It's got a short handle, but I estimate it's weight at around 10 ounces, so it should do OK for most jobs. I wanted something compact since space is a scarce commodity in a camper, but there is a little more room in the case for a slightly longer handle, which would have been better. The hammer, adjustable wrench, screwdrivers, and pliers all have a pretty good rubber handle/coating on them and they are comfortable to hold, if a little small. The case is OK, it does have nice latches for closure, but the hinge is just a flexible piece of plastic that will eventually fatigue and break. I will warn you that this tool set has a really strong odor once you remove the plastic wrapping. It's off-gassing some pretty strong smelling chemicals. I have it sitting in my garage right now, hoping it will finish off-gassing at some point before I put it into the camper. I strongly suggest you open this outside or in a garage and let it air out for a while. I can still smell the remnants of it in my house, as I mistakenly left it in here for a few hours. If you need a basic tools set, I think this one would be OK. You do get a fair amount of tools for $25. For a typical new homeowner or apartment dweller, it should be OK if you augment it with a pair of slip joint pliers and some SAE allen wrenches.

A good little kit for various home maintenance tasks. I've already used the screwdrivers to replace a light switch in my bathroom, used the pliers to remove a stuck dowel that I put into the wrong hole while assembling a vanity stand, and I've been using the tape measure for various projects. I like the tape measure. It's 'see-through' which is cool to see the inner workings. I'm also so glad everything comes in a nice, well organized carrying case. It's not going to compete with more heavy-duty versions of these tools but as I said, for light duty home projects it's pretty handy. I would recommend it to keep in any household utility closet.

Pretty comprehensive set of tools for small jobs around the house for the average homeowner (putting together furniture, fixing electrical outlets, tightenibg threads on plumbing, hanging pictures, etc.). And, yeah, the quality is not great, however, the tools work and should last a long time under normal use. It’s great to have an a pinch or for a new homeowner or college student. And it’s $20, one dollar per item in the toolbox. Good value. Overall, pretty happy!

When they say "basic", they mean really basic. I'm mostly OK with that at the price and for my intended purpose, which is to have it available for others in my household when they want to borrow one of my tools. Somehow, too many of those just never seem to return. Most of the tools are adequate and the case holds them nicely. The circuit tester comes without instructions and could be dangerous in the hands of someone who's never used one before; I'll be removing it from the set. The adjustment on the wrench is sloppy.

The tool kit arrived, well packaged, on time and defect free. The tool kit comes in a convenient carrying case, and contains all of the tools listed in the advertisement. This is a great kit to have handy for quick repairs and makes a great gift. The quality is good, and the few tools that i have used so far work well. I keep the kit handy in my car, so it's with me where ever i go. Obviously, based on the price, which is very reasonable, you are not getting the highest quality tools that you might want to use on a daily basis, but it's great for the little projects that pop up unexpectedly. The product works as advertised.
