These are very strong. use them to tether my dog in the car to keep him from jumping rows or jumping out when we open the hatch. The length is true to description. I ordered 2. Absolutely perfect. Right size for our gate. Definitely a value for the money. We have two German Shepherds that are very strong and they are able to push our wrought iron gate and somehow flip the latch. They did it a few times and it did not matter we put stronger latches, they continued to be able to open them. This gate is over 5’ so they are not jumping over, they just know how to wiggle the gate and the latches open With this strong chain and two hooks that come with it I have it secured the chain in between the wrought iron, where even if one hook gets opened there is another that is a few inches above it. These sweet pets of ours won’t be getting loose. It petrified me when they ran out in the street. Thankfully our neighbors and my daughter helped me get them home this last time they got out. They have a big yard to run around in, but I guess they wanted to just run around the neighborhood. There are too many cars and they could have gotten hurt or worse. This is a heavy duty chain. I was using bungee cords to secure my fence gate open. With a heavy gate, and strong winds in my area, the bungee cords would wear out too quickly. I am confident that this chain will stand up to the demands I am putting on it.

Works great to keep my gate tied to fence post as my husky/australian shepherd mix dog aggressively pulls, loosening gate on my chain link fence from opening as she wildly pulls at gate which will loosen hasp and hinge fittings alllowing her out to chase wildlife. . If I tighten fittings gate too much to prevent this, I cannot operate gate. Works great, strong, stainless and black so it blends with my black aluminum chain link fence.
