Description

Siemens introduces the new simple, spacious and secure Plug-on neutral load centers with electronic breakers. The Siemens Plug-On Neutral Combination Type AFCI breaker detects arcing faults (an unintentional arcing condition in a circuit) that standard circuit breakers are unable to detect. This AFCI circuit breaker is the same, reliable design, without the pigtail, specifically design for the Plug-On Neutral Load Centers. These breakers now only have a single load lug. The branch neutral conductor is returned to the neutral terminal bar for simpler and quicker wiring.

  • Make sure you understand what your ordering!
Make sure you understand what your ordering here. This particular breaker is for a new generation panel with a grounding/neutral bus bar. If you’re looking for a Arc Fault breaker with the white neutral pig tail this IS NOT THE DROID YOUR LOOKING FOR! I attempted to order one and had to return the item twice. Ended up purchasing through local hardware store. Nothing like touching, feeling and seeing what your about to purchase. ... show more

  • Pretty Trippy Dude
I installed these AFCI breakers in a new subpanel as required by the National Electrical Code. I'm now having to go outside and reset nuisance trips on a daily basis. In my kitchen, I can't grind coffee and use an electric kettle at the same time on the same circuit, despite the combined load being only 11.5 amps on a 20-amp breaker (load measured using my trusty kill-a-watt). In my shop, I get random nuisance trips when starting up tools like table saws and miter saws. This is for a single 10-15-amp tool with no other draw on the circuit. That is completely unacceptable and IMO these breakers are not ready for primetime but somehow got adopted and mandated anyway. So here we're in a bit of a bind. If I take out the $1000 worth of annoying $40 AFCI breakers I installed and replace them with perfectly good old $4 breakers that are no longer code compliant and there's a fire, I could be criminally liable. So I appear to have no good alternative but to make the walk out to my subpanel to reset breakers a part of my daily life. Thanks government. I'm not going to make a recommendation to anyone, but I can say that I will never elect to install another AFCI breaker unless my building inspector forces me to. FWIW, this is not necessarily to say that Siemens breakers are a worse choice than some other brand. I haven't used any others and they may perform just as poorly. ... show more

  • Good Product, bad shipping
The breakers seem ok and in good condition, but I am very unhappy with the packaging. 10 individual breakers literally thrown into a box with no paper, bubble wrap, anything. All of the breakers rattling around and clacking against each other in the box.

  • Works
I had one of these of the same exact model that kept tripping every time I'd use my Microwave. The microwave is on a dedicated circuit and works fine on other circuits. I ruled everything else out and it came down to the breaker being the problem. I replaced the existing breaker with this one and, no more nuisance trips. These are apparently very sensitive though so I'm hoping this one doesn't start doing the same but it works for now. Update 6/21/23 New breaker started failing after 3 months. Siemens breakers are apparently known for nuisance trips, as are AFCIs. ... show more
