Product used to place tension on 12" diameter pine tree measured at base. Product connected to pull rope tied at 25 feet height to tree. At approximately 3500lbs tension pull on tree, locking pawl to spool would not engage automatically thus spool gear tries to unspool if handle released. Observing the device while using at less than half of rated capacity noticed frame and attachment too spool distorted enough to prevent pawl spool lock from moving to lock spool gear. Noted pawl lock will not fully deploy even without load applied. Pawl can be engaged with firm hand pressure applied. Device is unsafe with pawl not securing gear spool under load.
