Bought this to place it on the transom of my 25 Foot Eduardono Corvina Panga Boat. Not many of these outboard motor brackets have a mounting plate that would be small enough to mount on a narrow beam Panga Boat. This Bracket fits perfectly on my transom. I haven't installed it yet , but I'm happy it'll fit perfectly and I was able to adjust the height pretty easily by hand. When it's securely mounted it'll be easier to adjust the height. Looks like good quality . I'm installing this kicker bracket just for peace of mind knowing I have a backup motor in case my 50 HP Evinrude Etec Outboard breaks down. The last thing I want is to break down in the middle of an Ocean Inlet with breaking waves. I'd have to wait an hour to get towed and another hour or more getting towed back to dock. I purchased a 12 HP Long shaft Hangkai Outboard Motor for about $800 and that'll be my backup motor. Would push me 4 or 5 knots back to my dock. With this I'll feel more confident going out on the ocean and not have to worry about getting stranded out there. Fantastic deal for a little over $80 . I really liked the Panther Brackets but they had 9 inch mounting plates. ... show more

    • Trolling motor bolt on transom
This adjustable transom is well made and sturdy. It will work with any small outboard motor, electric, two or four stroke. The metal components are all stainless steel and the transom plate is high strength plastic. Four stainless bolts, washers and nyloc nuts are included for mounting.     • Unuseable so far as I could see.
I felt that the design had missed critical points and the fabrication was unsatisfacctory as well. The single spring is inserted into the mechanism at its highest setting, with the spring slack, so it will give no support raising the motor to the top two positions. The metal is no doubt strong enough to function, but it is bolted together so tightly that the pieces bind tightly. If the bolts are loosened slightly then it becomes so wobbly that it won't function at all. I think large plastic spacers (and thus longer bolts etc.) might make it functional, but the $100 dollar aluminum offering is so superior that there's no comparison. I sent this back and bought the $100 aluminum version instead. ... show more

    • Works but definitely not going to keep on the boat
very flimsy built should have been thicker bracket metal and used some sort of spacers at mount pinch spots to stiffen construction. i would not be comfortable using long term for any size motor as much as it flexed while on water.

    • Heavy duty, but difficult to move up and down
This seems to be made of high quality stainless steel. I can bounce my 170lbs on it. It doesnt move. This is a great priced item, if you dont plan to raise it up and down very often. Even with the spring off its extremely difficult to move up and down. Luckily mine will stay in one position.
