Not the first of this type of gate fix product I've gotten. This appears to be on par for good quality as the others are and will make building the strong gates we need for planned projects a breeze. These are a nice heavy weight metal with a nice black pant finish on them. These are the perfect kit for a simple straight forward strong gate build using 2 X 4 for the framing, you can use whatever wood you want for the front facing boards then. Looking forward to my projects with the use of these. For the regular price $28.99 per the listing on par with other listings on Amazon for similar products and worth it. As always I only do honest reviews and will update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

I ordered this and the weather turned cold, so I just got around to using it. I was planning on building a slightly oversized gate. This kit actually turned out to be pretty good for a standard single-person gate, but I couldn't pull the trigger on trying to use it for an extra-wide one. It makes the job of putting a gate together pretty easy, but it really needs a diagonal tension cable to discourage sagging. Also, pressure treated lumber is a LOT heavier until it has a chance to dry, and that makes a difference. Make sure you give pressure treated boards a chance to dry out a bit first.

I got this to rebuild my privacy fence gate, however, after opening it and examining the parts I determined it was not strong enough for that use. I do have a smaller fence and gate that hides my a\c unit and trash and the gate had started to sag over the years. So I rebuilt the smaller gate with this kit. It worked amazingly well. Very sturdy and swings wonderfully. I didn't use the included latch as I didn't like the look of it and went with a different style. It was all so easy with this kit and a couple of 2x4s. I highly recommend this gate kit. Thank you.

One morning not long ago after a windstorm I found myself staring at one of my fence gates lying on the ground. It was still attached to the fence. I knew the fence was old and starting to rot so this just accelerated my timeline. I knew I wanted to try a different route this time with my gate as the gate on the other side of the yard is one of those all metal no sag frame kits. Yeah after a year or so it sags and rusts. Instead of dropping money on a kit from a local bigbox store I thought I’d take a peek on Amazon. I found this kit as it matched the criteria in my new design so I decided to give it a try. When it arrived I was surprised to see how small the package was, it was packed well enough for what’s inside. It also seemed to come with everything you need. When I was installing this I started getting the feeling this kit started off as shelving brackets and had some extra hardware welded on. If you look at the photo of the integrated hinges they very clearly look like door hinges welded on. Installation of the corner braces was straight forward enough but I ran into a problem with having a mismatched amount of screws. I was short on the long ones and had extra short ones. I substituted some deck screws for the missing ones. If you’re going to use this kit yourself I would recommend not using the included long countersunk screws with it. You really should use pan heads instead unless you predrill every hole and who’s got time for that when you just finished 40 feet of fencing. The reason is no matter how well you line up the screws in the brackets the grain of the wood will have something to say with it’s final resting place. This means some parts of the corner brackets won’t sit flush with the wood frame. I found the best way to compensate for this was to murmur something under my breath and take a sip of a cold one. All in all the install went fine and works fine as well. It swings nice and easy even with all the weight on it. I also opted for a different latch style than was included as it wasn’t going to work with my setup. Time will tell how well these were coated or painted when summer heat and rains come.
