I am a hobby blacksmith and I purchased these ball bearings to create a tool for shaping and texturing copper spoons. I welded one to some steel bar to make it easy to hold in a vise or hardy hole. (I’m not a welder so please ignore the ugly welds in the photos.) This worked great. I have made many copper spoons on this bearing now. I’ve missed a couple times with my hammer but the bearing still has no mars or dents. Very tough smooth steel! It has also been out in my barn for months and there is absolutely no rust. This tool should last a LOOONG time. And, since this came as a set of two, I have another bearing to make another tool or as a backup. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

I bought them to make some 550 cord crafts [take a guess what lol] they where great weight and size for what I wanted them for. Since they are chrome I don't think they will rust and so thats a plus. I think they where a great value too.

As expected these work great as boading balls. They are solid and hefty. Mine remain shiny and rust free a year later. As far as size goes... I can fit two across my hand and I estimate 4 on the length of my hand but I wouldn't try to hold more than 3 because I'd likely drop the fourth on my foot and I'll pass on that. ... show more
