  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice product for the money!
The only thing that had me puzzled was that it did not look like the product online. But, no biggie to me as long as it does the job. I will add that the bag that comes with it was a nice touch, But found a couple of holes in it. Hopefully this will help keep some moisture off of it.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Bought this years too late.
This is a basic tool every jeweler should have in the shop. And my squirrel kept telling me that I needed to change up my system. Did I believe them? Kind of... but, the impetus was never there. For years I have been using my sandcasting set-up to cast ingots, and that has its place, but for just quick ingot to wire production, these molds cannot be beaten. Believe your squirrels, for the will be the soldiers who crush the world I to submission for you when your plans come to fruition. If you cannot trust your furry arborial advisors, why have them? ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price
Durable construction, but as others have said the clamp is rather weak. Also, the accuracy of the sizes leaves something to be desired. They are about 1/32 smaller than advertised. This is a problem as I am using the round bars as pins for knife handles so the sizing needs to be very accurate. Also would be greatly improved by having some sort of pegs or dimples on the round side for better alignment. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars It’s good and easier to make small bars!
I like how well it’s made I use it for making small copper, brass, and other bars.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Light duty work.
Good finish I have not had any rust accumulation. Screw on the bottom comes loose over time. Pour holes are small so you will need to develop skill to get a solid ingot with minimal spillage (work with silver). Would be nice if there were dowel pins to minimize fuss when getting it ready for a pour. The clamp broke on me when I was tightening it by hand. Looking at the grain pattern it appears to be cast. Still functions without the clamp but it was nice to have a smaller clamp for the job. Loses a star for the clamp breaking being as you can replace the clamp. And another one for loosening screw, no dowel pins and low volume. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Inside finish is very good. Can cast both round and flat ingots in different sizes.
The mould is well made and the two halves fit together perfectly. The clamp hiwever did not last three castings. Made from cast iron, it broke in half without me putting it umder much stress - and yes, I did warm it up with the mould before casting. Replaced it and mould works very well. Can recommend it. ... show more
